Do you lose Finestra when throwing the spear far?

Subj question.

With Spear Throw of Hoplite c3 and Gae Bulg both. I’ve see ppl throw them at their feet and not lose the buff. But what if you throw the spear far?

Also, can dragoons comment on Gae Bulg targeting?

I’m personally not a fan of it,and wish it had a targeting system like Spear Throw did.I’ve thrown my spear using Gae Bulg and visually seen it go through the monster,but damage isn’t applied unless the monster is at the very end of the throw range.Unless we get a target circle or that damage is applied,I personally won’t be adding anymore points into it.

I have hop c3 max spear throw
Finestra won’t lose if you throw far.
Reason that people throw at feet cause 0 cooldown so throw at feet will auto pick up and can throw again

And what about Finestra? Do you lose it with the throw?

  4. Gae Bulg = The red circle means it’s AOE on impact. The green arrow means where your spear will eventually land and stay (it bounces a few times from impact til it gets there). Damage is only inflicted ONCE on impact. Damage seems meh, even if it has the highest base damage of all 4 skills since the other 4 are multihits. You need to pick spear up or you’ll have to deal with 50% damage penalty for about 30 seconds which by then the spear will auto-return.

No, your spear doesn’t actually get unequipped- you just lose the graphic and the attack from your spear until you pick it back up.

it would be very counter intuitive to make a class with a skill that cancels another skill/buff of the same class.
That would be dumb if imc made it that way.
only weapon swapping cancels finestra if you weapon swap from a spear to a sword.

Don’t ever try to apply to logics when it comes to MMO devs.
Especially IMC.
