Do you guys think it would've been better if IMC

had let iToS be published by an actual publishing company instead of self publishing while being completely inexperienced and incompetent?

At least there would be more communications/feedback and overall better management at the cost of possibly turning this game more p2w. Say what you want but at the very least, the company responsible would be able to at least understand our language…

Possibly a less restrictive gameplay as well compared to now where they’re fighting a losing war against the bots at the cost of restricting players’ gameplay experience.

Don’t get me wrong, but I know some developers can do extremely well even if self published for themselves. For example Digital Extremes with Warframe. One of the most open and successful developers I’ve ever seen along with an excellent community.

it doesn’t matter…

twtos and indontos both have their own issue with publisher…

core issue still lies with the game itself…

the bug/breaktainance is just IMC copy-pasta code from ktos to itos…

The poll.

  • Actual experienced publisher with better overall management and communication funded by more p2w cash shop
  • Less p2w in exchange for lackluster/zero support and cheaters/bots all over the place
  • Who says having a publisher equals to better management and routine bot/cheater suppression?
  • Huehuehue I don’t care either way

The publisher wouldn’t change much mate.
Different teams, etc. Devs will be devs and publishers will be publishers. IMC needs to be better as a whole. First things first tho. Make kTOS and iTOS the same content wise.

Yes, depending on the publisher. A good publisher would have started the Q&A at the beginning of the games life. I’m not sure if more of our feedback would have gotten to them or not. But I think communication would be better for us.

Forum moderation would be tighter which would be nice. And I also think there is more obligation for IMC to fix issues faster–if they had a publisher breathing down their throat.

If you elect me as IMC Publisher…

I promise to end world hunger…

I will make every country a 1st world country…

I shall cure all disease and invent a pill that will grant immortality to all…

Make me IMC Publisher and we will have universal peace…

I’m not saying IMC doesn’t need to improve as devs just because there’s a publisher or not. They should improve either way whether there is a publisher.

As for the publisher not changing much, that highly depends on the publisher. At least they are able to do something like fixing bugs or communicating with the community and listening to feedbacks and forwarding to the korean team.

@haukinhue it wouldn’t necessarily be p2w just because there’s a publisher anymore than ktos is more p2w than itos. Better management or whatever, depends on the publisher. Idk about you but it should be at least better than what we have right now.

That’s why you’re wrong.

You don’t know what a publisher does.

Publishers don’t fix bugs. They might report bugs and such but they don’t fix them.

What are you saying, of course I have one…

mine, is as big as EA , heck I can probably win against EA

@White_Knight01 to be born stupid is one thing, bot to choose to be stupid deserves execution…

really? I always thought some publishers have their own teams to fix and patch over some of the bugs… like Nexon for example.

The problem isn’t with the publisher but rather on IMC themselves. A publisher might do a good job at community management, event handling, and minor fixes (if they knew) but they can never do major alterations with the game files as far as I know.

So most probably the better solution is for IMC to cut the crap and take the game more seriously, or they could just sell the game files and codes to another dev/publisher that has more manpower and do a good job.

Or someone could just make a coughprivateservercough.

Nah, they can tweak some stuff server-side because they have teams to manage the server. Fixes come within the update package on each maint.

I remember back when I worked in the products department for Ragnarok here in Brazil, we’d suggest things and talk with the devs but everything would have to be approved and go through the devs. Even cash shop content has to be approved by the dev. Nexon just has a better deal with IMC on the development side and physical proximity is also something that gives Nexon the edge over us on Steam.

Publishers are usually behind, localization, marketing, content planning (Events, Cash items), Customer Support and Community Management, Server management and bug reports.

It could and probably would be a lot better, but still probably not enough to make the game into what it needs to be since most of the time it’s still korea that calls the shots on everything while leaving the publisher with very little power over the actual game.

A big name publisher WOULD very much uphold IMC to a contract, where they basically have to service a decent game instead of letting their name be tarnished by the mess this game currently is. Something like that party freeze bug for example, went on for over a month. Something like that would definitely be fixed on a emergency nightly maintenance, as is the case with ktos and nexon KR putting the gooks over @ IMC to work.

so like yeah what’s up with jtos and ktos with their publishers compared to us now?

IMC is a good publisher. just need to stop making more bug every shutdown server

It’s a loss.

Mainly because IMC doesn’t even have that much man-power as it is. And yet they have to prioritize Nexon’s commands, and basically leave us their scraps.

It’d be alright otherwise but I feel as though there’s some behind-backroom deal to delay updates by a certain timeframe; because Korean companies love to do this to other versions to make theirs seem superior.

Felt the irony.
They are doing it wrong.

don’t think any publisher will have the power to fix bugs and performance issues.
