Everyone has actually been mature and discussed well mannerly, I think that subjects like this shouldn’t be hidden away, it’s a interesting topic to discuss and read about, saying what you just said doesn’t contribute to the topic at all and instead is something someone would say are unable to have a intellectual disscuion.
Ima just sit here and wait.

If anyone wants to earn their First Flag badge, this is it.
No offence to Senpai, but it is an opportunity to do so and everyone would be in their right to do so. Ix
(see post above mine for reference)
actually religious debates have pretty much toned down from what i can see in major social media. its either the parties are being more tolerant as they grow or got tired of it.
Its Social Justice Warriors that the one bringing in the popcorns these days in facebook, youtube and tumblr. But i doubt there are SJW lurking here in this forum.
Just flag this topic, religious topics shouldn’t be on a forum for a game, even if it is off-topic, and it’s against the forum rules.
Requesting @STAFF_Marikim for a lock, unless the community flags this enough and it auto-locks.
People getting it wrong. The OP was trying to ask people “Do you believe in god?” for their homework. A simpler answer should be yes or no.
It’s really not a religious discuss topic. Also, there no one here has insulted each other, so it didn’t violated forum’s rule in any way…yet.
@fairyhell That pizza joke seems a bit offensive.
Well either way, what’s wrong with your school? Personal beliefs and religion should not be subject of discussion on a academic environment.
I think that everyone who is saying this is a flamebait thread has a pessimistic view on life and reality. Why is it that they say we should not discuss religion and politics? These are two of the most important things in life, who controls our rules and what drives our innermost morality!
If you can’t handle a calm discussion, which this has been, don’t post here! It’s so lame to act like that, it shows that you’d rather people didn’t discuss anything deeper. We are mostly friends here, and I may be new, but we are all going to be playing this game together. Most of us are adults or late teenagers by the looks of things. There is no reason why we cannot have this discussion and since nobody has challenged anybody else’s or tried to refute anyone else’s beliefs this thread is not flamebait at all. Even if it was flamebait that would say more about the person baited to it than about the people having calm discussion in it!
Personal beliefs are immensely important unless you want to live in a dry world of computer operated everything and soy cubes and small talk only. This is life! We don’t have to criticize each other but we can criticize ideas and nobody should be so attached to an idea that if it’s challenged they would feel threatened or insulted. Ugh…Wake up people it’s a spiritual world we live in.
@fairyhell and above, Discussing religion is not the issue. It’s the trolling/flamebait/arguments/etc that happens after. Now I’m not saying arguing/discussing religion is bad either. But this forum in particular is not the environment for it.
It’s not about pessimism or optimism.
It is simply rules.
As @MementoMori already posted:
After a quick google search, @Senpai perhaps you’d like to visit forums that are dedicated to the topic your interested in, here’s one of many: http://debatingchristianity.com/forum/index.php
Fair enough. I don’t like the outcome, but, I would say you are making a reasonable point here.
oh please don’t ruin our good atmosphere by feeding the troll here…
Our good community gonna get ruined if people arguing what their belief or not, it should have been touchy subject for the 1st place asking that kind of thing in a public forum like this…
Yes.
Because of personal experiences.
This is also not the most ideal location for gathering research, @Senpai. There are forums dedicated to discussing the matter at length and further, and who would probably take your question more seriously and civilly.
Maybe this topic wouldn’t be made if we have something ToS-related to talk about. But we don’t.
The funny thing is nobody has been arguing, the only people arguing are the people who don’t can’t handle talking about it
Nobody is arguing yet (atleast not on the topic), and you may right, perhaps no one will argue ever if we continued this topic.
But nonethless, this is still not the correct place to discuss it, neither is it allowed to be discussed here.
This has been… surprisingly peaceful so far. Pretty surprised to see it like this, if it will help @Senpai though then I might as well answer the question, no, I do not believe in god.
I think the question needs to be defined properly for these types of question.
What kind of existence of God are you trying to believe?
Belief he exist like humans / animals / material / natural world? Exist in a different universe? Exist in our thoughts and minds?
Belief as in faith? Choice? Hope? Proven experience?
Without answering specific circumstance of your definition of “belief” and “God”, any answer is pretty moot.
Personally I do not believe God exists as our plane of existence (material world), I doubt He has any direct influence of our world. However I do believe He exists at least in human minds.
Frankly I have my doubts with all major (defined) religion. I do not know if any figures represented in their scripture / history / story are truly my kind of God. However all major religion seem to preach on several important social behaviors that are critical for a sustainable community (no murder etc), which I do believe in.
In short, I think there is something that keeps our living world intact. What this something is, I do not know. Although I am 100% certain its not man. It could be natural systems, something that exists out of our plane of existence, a congregate of all living system, or something else.
Due to how personal the definition of “exist” and “God” is for everyone, I am confident to say that most (99.99%) believe in some form of God, although that God is most certainly different from your and my definition of how God exists.
I have to say though, most today believe (without a doubt) in human contrived pieces of social contract, and the God of Perpetual Progress. Woe to Jesus, Allah, Buddha, and other representation of defined religions, most have lost nearly all its true followers.
You have a very clear picture of your own inner spirituality, and can express it well. I really admire that. Not many today have clear insights of their belief / understanding / views, in a world with so much corruption and manipulations.
There is actually merit to this view. The way human experience our world are through our sensory organs that generate electrical impulse. These electrical impulses are sent to a processing center to make it “make sense”, not very different from a fragment of our"imagination".
It is also this reason why schizophrenics can actually “see” and “hear” (just like you do) thing that don’t “exist”.
This is of course based of the good faith on biologist / neurologist / scientist’s logical deductions.
