Do X-Box Controllers still work?

Hey,
I want to buy a controller for ToS. Is here sonebody who knows whether X Box Controllers by Microsoft still work? I am thinking about buying one. But I am not sure because of the changes which happened some days a go. It would be great if somebody can confirm
that it works.

From what i’ve read, the changes doesn’t matter too much for “official” controllers.
If there’s any problem you can probably fix everything by using the new Steam feature for setting up controllers.

Edit - just bought the X Box Controller for 70€

Xbox controllers operate via Xinput which is still supported - DirectInput is used by older controllers mostly.
