if you wanna do a hoplite dragoon build, then peltasta is really the only good option,
if you wanna do a doppel build then i’d skip peltasta, and go highlander c3 barb 1 into doppel (or maybe barb 3 if you like)
if you want to pvp, then your best option is swordsman 3 cata 3, or some kind of corsair with swordsman c2 or c3
i dont like the idea that swordsman “must take peltasta”, every1 should be able to do w/e they want w/e other 5k hp archers b1tching cuz they suuck and need some1 to tank for them
no you dont need a peltasta.
Atm if you’re building two handed sword wielder taking pelt 1 in your ranks would somehow lower you’re dps just look at highlanders and barbs getting buffed atm, doppels getting buffed too once rank 8 classes arrive.
If gungho becomes % based just like its counterpart (Guardian) which from flat became % based then taking pelt instead of sword 2 in your ranks would then lower your dps some more
But anyways if you’re taking pelt just for swash then thats a different story as that wouldnt affect you’re dps that’s just a pull for you to get things done easily well thats how i see things atm…i myself never took pelt1 on my 3 DPS swords because pelt to me is a tanking class and i dont want to mix up my build if its DPS im building i go DPS all the way if its tank that im building i go Tank all the way. I’ll only do hybrid builds for a money making class like a templar with squire ranks in it.
Guardian nerf hurt pelt badly. If i were to pick now i might not include it.
oh no need pelt? i playing sw1 pelt 1 barb2 should i reroll? my plan is SW1 Pelt1 [Barb2-Rod3] or [Barb3-Rod2]
no real reason to reroll, the only reason you take pelt is for swashbuckling anyway.

Not that much of hindrance to my burst/dps swordies (I’m running a Hop c3 -> Corsair c2 and a Barb c3). Heck, the only reason I took pelt c1 is because of the Swashbuckling- makes my mobbing easier since I don’t really have to run around and attack everything.
