Do we get the appropriate patch notes?

It has been a while since 11/10 when we got the rank 8 update, we all saw that giant patch note pointing to all the changes that were made and the new additions as many would have noticed by now some things listed there just don’t apply to us. example:

  • Attacking targets affected by the Cryomancer’s Subzero Shield skill with Hunter or Falconer companion skills will no longer freeze your own character.

This. is a lie, it hasn’t been implemented yet. so, are we getting google translated patch notes from korea? Other thing that disgust me are changes that are not listed in the patch anywhere like the change that was made to “Fade” that no longer makes you immune to AoE effects, I don’t mind the changes but that it was mentioned no where, not good.

Something similar happened to Falconer’s Hanging shot, oddly enough everything that was avoided by beign in the air with Hanging shot no longer applies, but, Feather foot’s Levitation now behaves as Hanging shot once did.

So can we get the right patch notes?

Give up. There have been quite alot of ninjanerfs already that were never mentioned in any patchnotes. Dont give a ■■■■ about patchnotes, thats the rule here.

That rule should change. documentation of change is a cornerstone and IMC should not ignore it.

IMC is a shitty company

They took feedback on the fade “bug” awhile ago. kToS doesn’t gets full patch logs either…

Some hidden interactions are left out of the patch notes specifically to keep them hidden interactions. So the players have the “fun” of discovery.

That said bug fixes in particular are often left out of the patch logs hidden or not. I think whoever fixes bugs maybe a little notorious for that.

And the fun of getting IMC’ed if a build got ninjanerfed to hell.

On top of a lot of basics, I too believe complete patch notes, tooltips, and wiki are important. The closest thing we have to a wiki is tosbase and it doesn’t even have the translations for all the rank 8 stuff or updates to skills.

yup, specially big patches are just a copy paste from the korean ones, I remember the first big patch with a lot of nerfs and buffs (one after TBL was implemented), and said something about a rush skill bug what never came to iToS, but it was in the patch notes

Korean devs like ninja patches/nerfs.
They probably think it’s fun to do so.

Sure sure “hidden interactions” can remain hidden, but seriously 180 degree changes to a skill and the lack of documentation is bad as the documentation of stuff that’s not even implemented yet.

I want them to be even more transparent about these kind of things, they after all carry real weight, the change of game mechanics should be informed to the users. A mechanic can’t change an automatic to manual without telling the user (Terrible example, I Know). Software is no different, we shouldn’t tolerate these kind of things.

IMC has never changed and sadly I doubt they ever will. It will be a cold day in hell if IMC turned around and actually did work with fixing the game instead of sitting on their asses and twiddling their thumbs all day.

I don’t know how long they’ve been operating. Don’t know how they managed the beta. but they’ve only been less than a year managing the actual released product, so far it has been bad, hopefully they can change for their own sake.

Something basic like letting the user know the whole list of changes would be a nice start.

Just playing devil’s advocate. But that doesn’t sound like that’d change things much for you. Bug fix/nerf still would have happened… You’d just be able to read about it first.

Guinsoo did the same thing on LoL often. Not sure people gave to much notice to it. Just forum trolls looking for something to cry about when something they liked got nerfed.

That’s just my two silver anyway.

Information is key at the moment of taking a decision, isn’t it?
If people had known that fade had been stripped from its godly capabilities they wouldn’t of charged straight to that frost cloud, neither would of had that falconer rushed to bust those warlocks balls if he had know he would take damage.

This is not “I just want them to do it just cause” this is a “I must know because it affects how I interact with the game”, it would of saved the trouble of having to experiment to find out what went wrong.

I experienced first hand being frozen after reading that patch notes. I was lied to thanks to their lacks of quality check. This is bad behaviour on their part it must be fixed.

It’s so little but it does carry an impact.

-Edit-

Would also like to add: Change of game mechanics is not the same as bug fixing. One involves an absolute knowledge of what’s going to happen and thus can be documented and must be. The other is unforeseen and can’t be documented.

And if a bug fix involves changing a game mechanic it must then be documented.

I agree, but when its coming from people that doesn’t even use the Search Button in forum…

I find it a little hypocrite…

More information is always wanted, but one must also remember that the one typing the list of changes isn’t the one doing them and stuff get lost in the way or is never transmitted…

Sure, the forum is already plagued of information about things after the fact isnt it? But things that are mentioned in the patch notes and do not apply is the worst.

If they’re having trouble making the patch notes for the build we’re at, what are they doing?

Thing that are mentioned and do not apply, things that are not mentioned and apply should not be happening, don’t you agree?

They have many problems but making sure that we’re informed of what’s going on should be their priority and they’ve been failing for a long time haven’t they? Hope they improve soon.

Heeeeey unsurprisingly we got someone saying undocumented changes are insignificant and you’re a troll if you complain about it

weekly patch notes are fan-translated by gwen, uploaded to pastebin.

official patch notes are google translated.

imc game dev dont even know whats the synergy for skills they created, aka, they dont play their own game.
(hint, swordman1 Thrust attribute, continous attack, do only 98dmg. lol…)
