I’m planning to go Swordman C1 - ?? - Hoplite C2 - Corsair C2 - Dragoon
STR 2:1 DEX with 2Hspear and swap with 1Hspear & dagger
I was thinking to take highlander for fun and I can use the skill in the long run since it doesn’t require shield to use it
I already see problems about how swordy without peltasta’s SB will be forever alone on level 200+
I’m still in doubt about taking peltasta since personally I don’t really like it and I’m planning to use dagger instead of shield
Can you use SB with dagger instead?
Maybe I can rework my skill tree once I get the answer

once I advance from corsair c2 to dragoon, does that mean I’m not pirate anymore?
I mean, will the jolly roger combo and bonus from corsair as party leader gone or still there?

You cannot use Swash Buckling without a shield equipped, sorry.
Also, if you switch to a 2h after using Swash Buckling with your shield, then Swash Buckling will dissipate, so you can’t just swap to sword and board, use SB, then swap back to 2h, you need to keep the shield out to continue benefiting from the buff.
You can use it with a dagger (sword/dagger or spear/dagger). I just did it in game.
You are right saying that if you switch to 2hand after using swb the effect will go off, but it isnt like totaly off.
W/o a shield (swb) you have a max cap on aggro, so mobs will start walking slowly towards you w/o attacking you.
To make it works fine you need to use swb and wait those monsters to get around you, them you can swap your weapon w/o losing the mob.
Its because spells effects are somehow weapon bound, doing a quickly swap will cut the effect but the code behave is still up.
Maybe it requires you to have an off-hand weapon then? That’s kind of odd that it’s unusable with a 2h if they let you use it with a dagger.
it’s almost like it. You need to be equiped with a dagger or a shield, and you can use this skill with one of those equiped (you even can use it with just a dagger on hand).

Whoaa now that we have people who actually tried it in game
It makes sense that it doesn’t work with 2 handed weapon cause the animation requires you to hit the 2 weapons on both hands
