Do full support just get carried in grind parties?

I’m a 160 full support cleric, cleric c3 priest c2 and in the end I will add on c3 priest and plague doc. My damage output is pretty poor. As I type this, I’m sitting in a demon prison grind pt. I just check in every once in a while to put up sacrament then go back to watching youtube videos. It’s not worth it to do anything else. So far they haven’t kicked me. lol. So I guess this is my life as a full support cleric? Just sit there and let other people do the work? Even my heal is useless in this party cause the mobs are so weak my party members are taking only a little damage.

I’ve played other games where the cleric was weak in attack like in this game, maybe more. But he had really good buffs and heals were needed during grinding so you weren’t useless. In this game my buffs aren’t really needed and my heals aren’t either, outside of dungeons that is.

I can see this getting me booted from parties in the future or not even allowed in in the first place.

I hope I will be more useful outside of dungeons at 200+.

if youre sitting in 1 room for demon prison d2 grind, then youre doing it wrong.

it will be much better if every class has just a basic heal with 30 or 60 CD,not much to ask.

Go find a group taking on harder mobs. Support classes have always been useless against trash mobs, that’s why they are trash.

No thanks. Plenty of MMOs are going that single player approach. I like to see a game that encourages partying once again. Not everyone plays MMOs to solo as fast as they can to cap and complain about the lack of endgame content while spamming PvP.

i rather have a tactical full DPS team then a crap healer,come on man…this is 2016…every warrior knows how to patched themselves with own skills

I feel you. I’m useful as a linker, but in mission dungeons, what exactly do I do. I use quicken and give the phys players nice crit buffs, use slow as much as possible, lure around bosses with stop, and try (and fail) to reincarnate bosses, and uhh get rid of traps and adds with links?

But it seriously doesn’t feel like much. A dps would far outweigh my usefulness for bossing. There’s so much empty space where I just cast energy bolt/auto and it feels like i’m trying to punch a wall to help people with pickaxes dig at it yes

Wait until you reach 3star maps, and let’s see if you still think the same.

Youre full support what were you expecting honestly?
You can help things go faster by using heals and cure on the mobs and meelee atks. Yes it doesnt do anything extraordinary, but will it help? Yes it will.

This is why you are kicked.

You can either go around and lure mob, or just auto attack. A cleric attack do at least 600 damage with just cafrisun set, or 1000+ with arde dagger. That is in no way weak or useless

You can also turn your heal into damage.

The point is make yourself useful, don’t just expect it to happen like given.

most of the time you can only sit in one room because there is a party in every room.

I don’t think that’s the point. With the current spawn rate, 2 Wiz 3 Ele 2 is enough to clear the room for every respawn unless there are other room not filled by parties.

I do feel that others existence is not necessary but we invite them anyway because the exp difference is not big, and having more members ensure less exp sharing with non party members.

You are Full Healer, not Full Support. You can turn your heals into damage.
In Beta, it is known that there is no pure support, as there are heavy cooldowns, and Wizards may even be a better support. It is best to have a mix of damage and support skills.

I can read pretty well… and ALL classes on GW2 have heals. They all even have buffs. Anyone can be support/tank/dps at the same time.

Have you played GW2? I’m not sure you understand my exaggeration but pretty much, everyone with heal = GW2 lol.

On topic.

Full support cleric/priest? you can do auto attack.
some if not most cleric/priest skills scale with SPR.

ah well 250+ grind spots are in heal demand if you wanna grind effectively - and you need just 1 real dps in said maps anyways if your setup is quite good - all others are just for pulling stuff or dealing mediocre damage wich isn really needed…ele 3 does all the job

i am cry 3 / psy 3 where is that a min/max korean copycat when i decided to go that path 10 months ago during theory crafting with friends? as if its my fault that i have an ele 3 in party xD and it doesn need koreans in order to decide for an ele 3 / wiz 3 thats called common sense if people wanna deal heavy aoe dps and love the wizard class
