Last Tuesday, I came back from work and wanted to play a bit of ToS… but was unable to connect to Fedimian server. Apparently, I was not able to connect to my provider’s homepage either… but some other websites were working fine. So clearly a local DNS server went down for a while…
This gave me an idea… why not try another server? So I tried Klaipeda… and it worked! Ready to create another team for fun, then a character, then…
Wait… why are there all these messages in the message box? Hmm apparently the Lada DLC pack is available again, and the leaf penguin pet, and a ton of maintenance compensation rewards… let’s give all of them to this new character.
Hello world! Back to West Siauliai Woods… and surprised by the relative smoothness of the game on a quite distant server. So time to do the starting quests and go to the city. Hmm as a new team, the event board says I’m qualified for the rookie event reward, so let’s get that cube and milk it. Open once, twice… a lot of times (was level 15 at the time) until I get a message that I need to be level 30 to open the cube again. Then I look at my inventory… in awe.
All the event weapons are there (you know, like catacomb staff 1515 Matk), 30 days OP jewelry, dozens of xp tomes, enchant scrolls, all sorts of anvils, reset potions, attribute points x10000, and so on…
What… the fcking fck??? Now I see why people erase their characters to participate in this event. You can pretty much level a character to 360 in a day with all this cheeze… You even get the cookies for dessert!
Seriously, what’s the point of giving all this to new characters? This doesn’t encourage people to actually play the game, but just rush to the level where there’s nothing else to do but the dailies…
On a side note, I just noted that the level 50 stuff you get from the event (mainly Catacomb staff + Aias shield) is what you find on the necrobots… and in 30 days, you can make a lot of silver, enhance high level items and make even more silver, before having to restart the cycle with a new account.
Back to my Klaipeda experience… After one hour, I was getting really bored with that cheezed character so I checked my Internet Provider again… and it was back to normal. So I switched back to Fedimian. And resume actually PLAYING the game…
