Greetings,
As we all know that Silver is the main currency in game while TP is mostly used for Cash Shop. This sorta hit me but what do you think about making TP as a currency too alongside Silver? Which can be used mainly in selling or buying items in Auction House. I know it may sounds stupid but hear me out.
In an MMO i’ve played before used the same system. Cash is a premium currency that can be obtained without having to buy a steam wallet, game card etc. as it can be obtained in game through Auction,. This helps non cash players to get cash and having the same luxury as the others.
This too may, I think, may reduce gold sellers. I mean they are selling gold to the players so players could buy items that they want right? So using Cash as a currency, players don’t really have too go through gold sellers to get gold, they would just have to top up their cash and buy them items they want through Auction, set in TP. Get it? In the MMO I’ve played before, at first there was a lot of gold sellers spamming their crap but they died out, either from the system…or maybe they’re bored with the game.
However, it’s not always rainbow and sunshine. The cons from having such system may destroy the market if abused. For example, all market items could be 80% to 90% set in TP and absurd TP price for an item. This probably can be countered with, while selling an item in Auction, Silver is a must and TP is optional. Basically, it’ll work both ways, those who have silver can buy it and those who have TP may also get it (depends if the seller sets in TP too). Or anything better than this.
I’m not gonna lie, there may be a plummet in IMC profits cause hey, they still gotta make money out from the game to keep it going. So yeah, either way, from the MMO i’ve played before, it stayed for a good 3 years before shutting down, mostly due to the company f*cked up their game, not from financial.
Pardon for the wall of text. I hope I’ve made it clear. If there’s any question that you don’t understand regarding to this post, do let me know. I’ll try to fill ya in.
