[Discussion] Repeatable Quests

Hello everyone,

Hopefully everyone playing has some experience with the repeatable quests from Miner’s Village. You go kill Vubbes in set quantities, and you get a few EXP Cards in return. In my 50+ levels of gameplay after these two repeatable quests, however, I have seen no other repeatable quests. For a game that’s so heavy on grinding and/or questing, shouldn’t there be more?

Also, what about the implementation of daily quests for those that are stuck due to not being a high enough level to progress into the next set of quests?

Thoughts?

Anything else please. Would rather grind then deal with the cancerous daily type quests.

You would rather grind on mobs and get EXP than have a quest that you could do to kill the same mobs and get an EXP card or two for killing them whenever you’re stuck at a level/quest gap?

Grinding in ToS is very fun. I’ll take that over dailies anyday.

Aye, but you’re probably on a class that has an easy time killing mobs by yourself. The hard part is being on a class that does well in party situations but having to do the same amount of work as one (let’s choose everyone’s favorite, Highlander) that solos things easily puts it at a somewhat skewed disadvantage.

Im okay with repeatable quests but daily’s always become these awful things you HAVE to do or you miss out on something important, and i don’t want to see that ■■■■ in yet another game.

Yes, but they also help out with players being stuck in certain areas. Just because they’re implemented doesn’t mean that they have to contain missable content for those that don’t feel like logging in once a day to complete them. The suggestion wasn’t to make them there for people to have to do them, but for them to be there as another outlet for playing the game when stuck at a level-restricted area.

I understand that but what i am saying is that in any game that puts them in, they ALWAYS without fail degenerate into mandatory content. So i would rather just not have the possibility of it happening.

repeatable quests are alright, i think the way they made the mining village quest cap at 5 or 10 repeats is good. (i’d appreciate a higher cap maybe), but i could grind there for a few levels and when ive exhausted my quest limit, i’ll have to move on.

daily quests are good and bad. The whole mandatory part can easily be corrected by making the quest tailored to your character.

there are two parts to this:

  1. the quest objective , usually a ’ Kill Y monster X times’ should be partly chosen by the player. for example, at any given lvl range (ex: lvl 10-20), the player will be given a choice between 3 monsters around their level ( weaker/medium/tougher) as to tailor to the difficulty that they like and so should cater to a wider range of builds

  2. the quest reward shouldnt be anything collectible that would prompt a player to make it a chore. a small amount of exp cards and a stack of (random) potions should be fine.

the reasoning behind this daily is that it should only be there as an bonus to grinding, and also since there is a range of targets, it wont be restrictive and force you to camp at a specific map ( much)

I definitely agree with this concept.

Yea i would be more partial to this route. As a repeatable quest that already exists would just be xp.

There’s a few more other repeat quest but they’re higher level.

Lv84 at Baron Allerno 5 times repeat
Lv89 at Aqueduct Bridge Area 5 times repeat
Lv127 at Altary Way 5 times repeat
Lv145 at Sanctuary (not sure 5 or 10 times but this quest only give temporary buff and not give exp card)

So it’s a total of 6 quests. Feel like too few imo.

I agree with you! Daily quests for me give some optional variety to the game. I love grinding but I must admit having the option of side quests is nice!

And there definitely needs to be more repeatable quests, too!

You’re not the only one when it comes to this sort of thing. I feel like they need to have more things present throughout the game. Such as:
:sparkle: Repeatable Quests
:sparkle: Instance Dungeons (Frequency 30 - 50 - 75 - 90 - 115 - 130 - 145 etc.)
:sparkle: Side Maps that have a ton of Side Quests (since they’re not present in the linear grind)
:sparkle: “Purposeful” dungeons
