Discuss: How is your swordsman faring with rank 8 content now

I know when it just came out, rank 8 content was considered to be really challenging for everyone.

How is everyone doing now with the new gem/transcendence systems?

Personally, I’m kind of untwinked, only stage 1 trans on my geras spear (lol) and lv5 gems…and I find rank 8 content to be challenging but not impossible. The thing is with the buff to DEF/MDEF, I have over 2.4k DEF with aspersion (which is on the low end these days), and I take like 1 damage from most physical mobs so all I need to do is kill the magic guys first, then I can safely pull all the melee mobs and kill them.

You are well geared, not everyone has that much DEF (such as myself) so the content is very punishing, what hurts the most are the mages.

The +10% extra defense per rank helped a lot on that regard, but it wasn’t a proper solution in my point of view.

It’s because there was still no +10% extra defense per rank back then, If you have hit R8 by that time you probably have felt it too. Lucky for you, need not experience all those horrors. lol
