Although I laughed out loud at this reply cuz it was hilarious. I think he’s referring to the reason I deleted my Priest. Building mostly support eventually soloing becomes super burdensome and he’d rather have the option to grind out dungeon / mission exp with his support character instead of solo.

I mean it isn’t unreasonable since lots of ‘normal’ MMOs allow players to party and run dungeons as much as they want every day. No reason we can’t have a daily talt limit but still be able to continue exping.

With “normal”, you mean P2P / B2P?

I didn’t play Tree of Savior cuz it was ‘free to play’. I was attracted to the gameplay concept and art. I wish to god this game would at least be B2P, hell I’d pay a subscription if it would improve the quality of this game. I wish the F2P model would die already.

I can relate. RO was also greatest when it was P2P.

Are limited dungeons runs normal in F2P MMOs?
I haven’t played many asian F2Ps in the last years, but in the western ones (like SWTOR, GW2 Basegame, etc.) you don’t have limitations like this afaik.

The F2P ones I’ve played pretty much all had limited runs in some way. There are also per-week system and even more common “Only once every x hours”.

GW2 doesn’t have a limit because it’s the core of the game.

Some examples with limits: FFXIV, Aion, Fiesta Online (doesn’t have an actual limit, but you can only join every 2 hours)

Well, the expansion didn’t add any new 5 man dungeons, just the raids. So I guess you pretty much get the whole dungeon experience for free.

Or do you mean the dungeon system in GW2 is the core of the game? I played it for quite a long time and I have to admit I hardly spend time in dungeons, I loved GW2 for the open world events.

Funny you should mention it but that is the reason I quit FFXIV. It was tolerable before the expansion pack but, after the expansion pack, you were literally paying monthly for an MMORPG with weekly limits on EVERYTHING lol. People there white knight it so bad too… At the time I was working 50 hours a week between 2 jobs but had all my free time to myself so I would chill in FFXIV doing stuff and then I’d just be out of things to due cuz I hit the weekly limit and I got told by the players to, “Get a job and stop thinking that you need to spend 24 hours a day playing this game.”

Yeah… no. FFXIV was amazing before they took their limitations to the next level. Delivering less content and adding more restrictions.

It was just Square-Enix’s way of slowing the players down so they can keep on paying subscription money instead of adding enough content to keep the players busy.

Good to know. I bought a cheap key for FFXIV last Winter and played the “free” month. I kinda liked the game while leveling, but I didn’t know that it had so many restrictions. When my free month was over I got pregnant and for 4-5 months I was too sick to play any games at all. I recently thought about trying that game again, but I don’t really need another game full of restrictions in my life.

You won’t even feel the restrictions until you’re level 60 and have all the story quest caught up and all the dungeons/trials unlocked to be honest. They were made to hold back the people who are already at end game, not to hold back the progress of new players trying to catch up.

The game will be fun until you get to the point where all that’s left for you to do is end game.

Since I only have about 9 weeks of baby-free time left, I guess I won’t even get there anymore.
Thanks for the insight!

I played XIV from version 1.0 Alpha til about a few months ago due to life problems. XIV is very much worth the play through. The story alone although slow at first, to me was really good. End game, there’s plenty of it and would take you forever to catch up to the point of running into these restrictions.

But Flanflan is correct, depending on the type of player you are.
