It’s slowly turning maple story t2. (in terms of game mechanics like awakening and etc) lol.
MMOs got much worse in terms of being “cash sucking” games.
This could be considered p2w 8 years ago IMO.
People complain too much, come on.
If ToS had the same style of game mechanics I’d be quite pleased. I don’t see much complication to ToS combat mechanics (though some of the new quest bosses for r8 content were pretty nice, they would still be steam rolled if I played with a party instead of soloing everything)
it’s just GL MANAGING HOMING MAGIC ATTACKS WITH THE PROPER CLASS COMPOSITION XD THERE’S NO WAY TO OFFSET THEM UNLESS YOU PLAY WITH CERTAIN CLASSES
My problem with this p2w in ToS is it’s not worth paying for. In MS, at least you have decently challenging content to look forward to if you’re strong. In ToS, unless you play the right class, you’re just screwed out of end game content. And even if you weren’t, end game content becomes invalidated by the game company anyway and most things aren’t mechanically challenging (which I put in to a different category than coordinated teamwork)

I love how people use backwards logic that pay to win elements are fine as long as the average free to player can just buy them off the marketplace.
Just because one guy can sell it to others doesn’t make it any less pay to win.
Tbh it’s just as pay to win buying tokens and costumes… I think this one it’s just easier to complain about… Cause… dumb people and all that. We’ve been drinking the koolaid for awhile. And we justify it with fallacy because of RMT mainly…
Though more practical view is that gaming companies are expected to provide more and more content. More game for less and less money. So turning to methods that manipulate human weakness like gambling mechanics are needed to compete with mega corps with far greater resources and like Blizzard entertainment or like EA. That can turn out a exceedingly high quality product because they have millions of costumers.
Definitely quit if they introduced this to our version. I know at least 30 others who will quit as well. We’re not sticking around to play against players who decides to spend much more cash on TP shop.
R8 incited a quitwave already. This could be the final blow to the already dead game.

Where is the HUE option?
There are far worse off games that continue to survive with payment models worse then this. I don’t think you’re being realistic. Unpopulated servers being absorbed into populated one perhaps. But ToS isn’t going anywhere as bitchy as we are… If anything it’s going to boom again with the mobile release.
Fuk that.
FFXV, Tales of Berseria, Switch, then FFXIV Stormblood
If I have to throw money at this game for poor returns there is just way better ways to spend those dollars.
OMG o.o
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
WTF ARE THESE GUYS THINKING?

And it works in every game. Just look at Warportal’s iRO.
RNG P2W things in 2016, I think they really want to lose more thousands of players…
Been waiting for this game since it was announced as ‘Project R’. Been playing this game since the very first CB. Might be a good time to stop playing if this is implemented in iToS.
Also, i hear that theres a necklace can be bought in the recycle shop with +20 to stats and a huge chunk of MDEF?
They are stupid if they don’t think this will kill their game. Look at Archeage and Black Desert. Those two games had so much potential and the publishers decided to release P2W cash shop items and how did players respond? There was a mass exodus. Archeage is barely profitable now and down to 1 server.
Black Desert also failed because of No Man’s Sky style of marketing.
You could see the bullshit from a mile away, let hype unchecked and disaster happens.
Stay! /20characters
Tbh it still doesn’t match the rates you get from Chinese farmers. 10 TP a roll. <5% chance to get something worth 20mil. If you look at the probabilities of what you’re getting.
It’s a legit way to RMT though… Outside of just tokens and buying costumes.
Addition: In that vid the player seemed to get more then their silver’s worth spending 400 TP on those items. I think a sharp devalue in items like blessed shards and Pract could reduce it.
Though, just the silver anvils alone because they’re essentially as good as real silver beats the current(at least shout spammed price) of dollars to silver through blackmarket. That’s not even factoring the value of the cards and everything else.
