End class would be dragoon (focusing on pve)
just wondering why people take swordsman c2 than peltasta c1
and the difference of going hoplite 2/3 against cata 2/3
also if taking doppelsodner for rank6 is neccesary

I think it’s because of that terrible guide on tosbase
Hop 2 > Barb1 > Doppel1 gives you better damage since you get +50% damage for both Pierce (Spear Lunge) and Slash (Cleave). You also get a 100% uptime and 50 more crit rate on your Finestra and you get DoV.
Hop1 > Cata3 has better AoE since Earth Wave and Doom Spike have better range and AoE ratio than most swordsman skills and have low cooldowns; and Rush is sort of like Cyclone. You also get better defensive stats with the companion bonus and you get to move really fast, which is also great for dodging things if you’re not going DEX.
Doppel is there to make up for Hop’s and Drag’s terrible AoE and there just isn’t a much better choice. Hop2 Cata2 would make you lose out on both Rush and Cyclone, which are the best AoEs in the swordsman tree.
So far
i have the base
Sw1-Pelt1
if im gonna focus on doing pve content/wb/dgs/etower
what build would suit? and i i dont get cata i cant mount?
Well, our friend have a very correct view above, but i will give my two cents if we go by the future build that ends on dragon with a focus on PVE.
first right now (rank7) there is not much difference going hop or cata, of course each one offer their advances on their selective subjects and can help in every aspect of the game.
but once dragon2 come out this will change because of the buff for melee damage.
in this game buffs are applied later on skills and by that buffs multiplies them self so. by going cata route, we would loose spear lunge(60%) from, hoplite2-3 finestra and mainly cyclone plus dov(50% atk extra) from doppel1 (filler).
and this will make a very big difference in damage once we apply the sepertine buff.
Well before the new buff, the hop path already had more damage than the cata path, but at least for me that plays with cata the mobility alone would compensate for that but once got the buff with dragon2 i believe that the damage from hopdoppeldragon will be way high than their cata counterpart, but this will only be certain once the rank8 comes out, but is something to keep in mind, since cata paths will always have their moblity but hop damage will only keep increasing and with cards give movespeed as well, the value of cata paths will only decrease.
to finish all of this is talking about the damage point of view and PVE aspect of the game and of course about my experience with the damage and my catagoon.
dont i get mount:companion passive from dragoon?
or i really have to get cata to get have mount?.
you can’t mount if you are not Cata
