[Dievdirbys] My Thoughts on Diev

I’m lvl 153, circle 3 Dievdirbys (c2 cleric)

I just thought I’d make a quick post to help others that are thinking of making dievdirbys

Firstly, it’s a quite a unique class that requires some tactical thought and good positioning – you have to position your statues in places where they wont get knocked away from your group, or put them in such a position so that if they are knocked back, then they bounce off a wall and back into the same position

I find that this adds an extra element to the gameplay, because if you are bad at positioning then your statues will constantly get knocked away from your group (and thus you are a useless member of the party) – so make sure you practice this skill !

Okay let’s talk skills. This is my opinions, so take it with some salt (or pepper. or both. or lemons)

For this list I will be using the :cheese: cheese rating system. More cheese = better

Statue of Laima

RATING: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: (4 out of 5 cheese)
It’s very good, because it has 3 effects: -20% less cooldown time for your party (yay!), +20% MORE cooldown time for your enemies (yay!!) and -20 movement speed for enemies (yay!!!) – also, it gives 2 debuffs for enemy, which is good for Incinerate (if you go PD)

Statue of Zemyna

RATING: :cheese: 1 out of 5 cheese
Pretty bad. I mean, on paper it seems good, but it’s not very good at all because in random groups at higher levels people just spam mana potions all the time anyway so it doesn’t really make much difference at all (plus most people don’t even stand near the statues anyway because they are randoms who dont know wtf is going on half the time). Maybe it would be good for a skilled pre-made group or something, but for random parties it’s kinda awful.

I actually bought a skill reset potion just so I could remove the 5 points I wasted on this skill xD Would be much better if it had some kind of SP regen effect (like regen 1 sp every 3 seconds or smt) but atm its not worth the points till they buff it

Statue of Ausrine

RATING: :cheese: 1 out of 5 cheese
Maybe this is useful in PvP/GvG, but I put 1 point in it and… I never use it. It’s just really awkward to use too. Like, you cast it and then 3 circles appear on the ground, and you have to walk into each circle and stand there for 0.5 sec, then move to the next circle, wait 0.5 sec, then next circle, 0.5 sec, THEN you get the buff that makes you immune to all damage/CC for 10 sec… it’s nice (when it works) but due to lag, sometimes it doesn’t work, and quite often it’s just better to use fade or safety zone to avoid damage.

Compared to Safety Zone, this skill is beyond AWFUL. Maybe if they buffed it, then it will be good, but for now I wish I could remove the 1 point I wasted on this crap~

Statue of Vakarine

RATING: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: 3 out of 5 cheese
I like this skill, just because I’m too lazy to run to the teleport statue, so I just press a button and POW! i got my own teleport  I only put one point in this though, cos extra points just means more people can use it (and i’m selfish~). This skill might be good to max if you want to use it for GvG, because at rank 15, this skill can teleport 15 players… might be very strong for tactical maneuvers

Carve Owl

RATING: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: (6 out of 5 cheese)
Owl says FK YO’ CHEESE LIMITS!!!* This limit-breaking owl is just waiting to f**k up your whole sh*t. The skill allows you to summon your very own thermonuclear owl, which casts a green fire every few seconds that hits 3 times per cast. For me, it hits for 2000 damage (so thats 2000+2000+2000 = 6000 damage every 2-3 sec~) and you can have 2 of them up at the same time, so thats like 2000+2000+2000+2000000 or something… I dunno the math, but it’s rly amazing damage. I dunno wtf it means about blocking frontal attacks though… the tooltip is kinda trippy

The only downsides to the owl is that it has quite a narrow cone for it’s fire spray, so sometimes it doesn’t hit all the mobs infront of it, and if you put it in the wrong position it has a long cooldown (like 1 min 30 sec) so you need to make sure you get it in the correct position (or hope the tank pulls the mob/boss infront of the owl)

Carve World Tree

RATING: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: (4 out of 5 cheese)
This is a game changer, rly, because it disables ALL SPELLS AND ATTACKS for all enemy, so they can only move and not hit your at all for like 40 seconds xD Unfortunately, it doesn’t work on bosses (that would be kinda OP I guess). Amazing utility!

Carve Attack

RATING: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: (5 out of 5 cheese)
I am full INT/CON, wth 1 STR, and it still hits for a CRAZY amount of damage (even on non-plant mobs) – this is the skill I use the most. It hits 5 times, and each hit does between 600-2000 damage (depending on the mob’s armour type) and with such a low cooldown, its very strong

For single target, 99% of the time I will use carve attack (kills most mobs in 1 shot), and for AoE I use owl and then pull more mobs to it… if I’m fighting more than 30 mobs at same time, then I will use world tree

##NEW PARAGRAPH

So yea, initially when I went c1 dievdirbys I was like “man this sucks…”, but when I got to circle 2 I was like xXxOWLZ OMG BEST CLASS EVAR!!11 OWLZxXx

Overall I would say this class is amaze and I cant wait to develop even more

10/10 would pick diev c4 if i could

But what if I’m allergic to cheese?

Just some add-ons:

Vakarine has a bug that if X players open the statue map, all X players can teleport and doesn’t matter the skill level.

Ausrine can grant invul for Y times. Y = skill level. Aaaaaand… 20s moving invul is a lot…

And yeah, Zemyna is just crap.

Don’t worry, it’s plastic cheese (for display and rating purposes only)

Ausrine need to be maxed for it to actually be useful (20s at lvl 5 + divine might). I actually never tell my team-mates how to use the statue so I can get the most out of it since reusing it causes the buff to decay by 2s every use.
The problem with this skill is that it’s very ping dependant. My ping goes from 90~150, I still need to stop each circle but only a fraction of a second. Lately my ping just boomed up to 500 and it’s now awkward to use.

PS: You can refresh your invulnerability status by circling it again.

Yeah. And it consumes 1 charge of the statue and reduce the invul time. The max time you can get invul is aprox. 40 seconds, what is a big thing

So each level of Ausrine = 1 invul buff charge? Means at level 1, only 1 person can get the buff, and 2 for level 2, etc?

Exactly. Or you can consume all Y charges circling it Y times. But everytime the same person circle it, the buff time reduces for that person.

But the duration doesn’t decrease if it’s for different people?
Let me see if I got this right:

Level 5 Ausrine
Person A circles twice and gets 18 sec + 16 sec invul
after that
Person B circles twice and gets 18 sec + 16 sec again? or is it 14 + 12 sec for the second person?
1 Charge will be remaining since 4 circlings were done, correct?

Zemyna is still worth a point, as it reduces the SP recovery tick. Great for expediating campfire sitting sessions :stuck_out_tongue:

In higher levels though, carve attack damage becomes pretty negligible, unfortunately.

Yes. You consumed 4 circles and 1 charge remain.

And the Person A and B thing I need someone to test, I didn’t get the chance to test it.

I agree that Statue of Vakarine is awful, rather than running around it why dont just let people stand on the circe for 3 seconds to give the immunity buff.

I have to disagree when it comes to Statue of Goddess Zemyna usefulness, I think this skill is really valuable because as a 152 diev with no spr this statue allows me to sustain my mana on the entire dungeon run without drinking any single sp potion.

At lvl.15 the Zemnya statue reduce 32 mp cost for each skill. If we look at Pyromancer their skill cost 22 - 34 mana, and Fletcher skills cost 22 - 30 mana. Zemnya statue allows the entire team to spam their skills which means more damage = faster dg run.

I dont know why people glorified carve so much, the aoe is too smal and one hit kill on mob is overrated, even as int build we could just get a nice weapon and kill every monster with 2 hits anyway (Cafrisun + Arde + Pardoner buff)

vakarine is the most usefu skill iev ever had in my life, but its not worth to put more than 2 points bcus divine might ugrades it anyway

Ausrine works like this (tested)

At Level 5 Ausrine gives invulnerability status for 18s, 20s with divine might (level 6).
If person A uses the statue he gets 20s invulnerabilty. The next person who uses the statue receives 18s, 16s and so on.
Coincidentally, if person A uses the statue he’ll get the 20s but if no one else uses it and he uses the statue again, the next buff will be 18s, 16s as well.

Ausrine does not have charges and can be used indefinitely as long as it is up, at the moment it is bugged and ends prematurely (sometimes after 1 use it disappears).

No, it has charges. I tested.

Lvl 1 = 1 circling
Lvl 2 = 2 circling
Lvl 3 = 3 circling
and so on.

I had points left to upgrade Ausrine and Owl to max level when I leveled up to diev 3 and tested this.

I found another usage for Ausrine! I found it’s quite useful on world bosses that occasionally ONE SHOT everybody

Awww yiss! I still dont think I will level it much tho xD

Ausrine is great for tanks.

Before going to lure another mob, they can circle it once (20 second duration with DM)

Also, I noticed that once you’ve circled ausrine for the first time (after stopping less than a second per circle), you can go around it without any delay for the 2nd time (meaning you don’t need to stop at each circle for about 0.5 seconds)

So far it is really hard to get party members to get used to using Ausrine. Really limited use in pve besides giving good positioning to tank/dps (they get immunity and can move in to fight without worries). Sometimes I wonder whether it really warrants the 5 points dropped into it.

Zemyna is a hit and a miss, so far at level 200+ I only cast it a couple of times. With paladin circle1 sp recovery I find it really hard to drop a Zemnya and say it benefits the party in pve. Perhaps if the statue can move along the group then it will be a really good skill. Currently with it planted in place it is hard to love the skill.

Laima and World Tree are insanely good in party and soloing.

Yeah, but dievdirby have a lot of points to waste. Carve do not need more than just 1 point, vakarine do not need more than 1 point, laima just need 6~7 points, you can max world tree but for really you can kill everything in party in 30 seconds max

So, you have a lot of points to just drop in some skill and I’ll be dropping in Zemyna, maybe some fletcher in my party will thanks me for it someday.

Yep, I’m dropping some points in Zemnya too hoping on the day some fletcher will join the party. :3
