Dievdirbys class, whats the point?

Dievdirbys is a combination of a lumberjack and pagan worshiper, although it sounds and looks unique I just cant find any reason to take this class.

The attack skill carve and owl statue is mediocre at best, the other statue provide “meh” buffs and “meh” aoe that demand party to stay in the aoe in order to keep the buff. Not to mention that Dievdirbys needs a few second to carve the statue and the long cooldown on every statue skill that makes the class less appealing.

Supposedly if someone want to be a support (INT) a cleric/krivis/priest C3 is the way to go simply because the skills that those class provide. And if someone want to be a dps (STR) Monk is the way to go or Sadhu for those that went INT.

I just cant understand under what circumstances people decide to take this class aside for being “different”, so can any of u guys tell me under what scenario or class combination this Dievdirbys shine?

It was previously mostly taken by monks/Paladins as the class provided them a additional physical skill and the owl statue was often a answer for high evasion opponents in pvp as magic damage doesn’t miss.

It’s like the hybrid support/offense class.

It can be quite powerful especially by becoming a Druid later and using gear like the Bracelet of Linne.

But it’s not an amazing offensive class or supportive class, just a bit of both.

Still useful at times, like silencing in PvP, etc.

owl statue is mediocre at best
[/quote]The Owl is deadly ■■■■, lol.

But I think Diev C1 is a kinda underwhelming…

The Owl Statue is Melee/Attack not Magic/Attack

Dievdirbys is Melee/Damage

Owl Statue says Magic Damage - Fire on it.

The type is Melee/Attack not Magic/Attack,but I know what you mean by Magic/Fire.It could be a bad translation or an error somewhere because usually offensive magic skills have the type as Magic/Attack.

Example

This was a ward image meaning magic attack and has a Lightning element to it

This one has a sword image meaning melee attack and its element is melee as well

Maybe it does melee damage but emits fire status.Kinda like how poison works with Wugushi class in TOS.

Im not sure but it must be somewhere in the middle then. Because like magic damage it doesn’t miss.

waiting for diev buffs ^^
but I will play diev anyway because looks fun

anyone knows stats for diev??

STR and maybe DEX for Carve, and INT for Owl Statue.

I pretty much assumed the class is designed to make organized party play more efficient. I think its pretty good if you have a party that lures mobs to a camp but overall pretty useless if you’re in a party that’s always on the move. 20 percent cooldown reduction isn’t a ton but it does make skills come off of cooldown a bit faster, and at higher levels I imagine the sp reduction statue eliminates a lot of downtime.

I haven’t actually seen it in action but it seems like carve+attributes+druid can get some pretty good dmg. The only thing I don’t like about the owl is the long intervals between attack.

I think the class could use some adjustments and I agree that circle 1 diev is a bit…lackluster.

^Mind you this is all just me theorizing without having actually played it.

cd and sp raises each skill lv?
Can you share diev skills details in english?

I agree I feel like Dievdirbs is missing something.I feel like the statue range for Carve Goddess Zemyna and Carve Goddess Laima should be much bigger and that the Owl Statue should have a short interval between it’s attacks.Plus by the tosbase.com description the Owl Statue is unclear if it does Melee/Attack or Magic/Attack.
Description says its magic [Fire] but the type and element says its Melee…

I hope Dievdirbys get some kind of attention.

found something nice =p

Why ppl think tosbase descriptions are more accurate than ingame description? lol

There are a lot of misplaced “elements” and “types” on tosbase tables.
Owl is magical/fire and is fine the way it is.

That Statue taunt is really freaking good … why the hell it doesnt exist in the wiki page.

Well I don’t see any proof about the Owl Statue being Melee nor Magic.I guess I would have to see it for myself when I play. Can you show me a ingame description of Owl Statue to confirm what your saying?

that statue is Carve Goddess Laima and I’m sure the taunt is base on it’s attribute.

@Viole
diev secrets revealed

Video description:
“I learned an attribute that makes my wooden statues increase monster cooldowns. As a result, they all get pissed off and swarm the statue! I’ve been using it as an AOE taunting beacon that lasts for as long as the statue isn’t destroyed. Really neat for parties!”

I don’t have a Diev myself, only saw it through streams.
Searched on youtube now, but couldn’t find anyone hovering the mouse over the skill.~
