Didel Tower Shield or Sage Wall?

Hello Guys!

I’m with a terrtible decision right now - Buy a Sage Wall, or a Didel Tower Shield.

My primary goal is to stack some MDEF, since magic damage hits like truck on us, Swordies. And oh, if you guys are wondering, i’m on the path of the kings: Sw1, Pelt 1, Hop 3, Doppel 1, and curently going to Dragoon C2.

Which one is the best and why? Is the Sage wall SPR gain gives it more MDEF in comparison to Didel? Wich is the most future proof?

Sage wall cost about 1.5kk on my server, while didel is 3kk+… And i’m kinda short on money :cactus:

And a side note - i’ve been hunting Sage wall for days, 5k+ Venucelos and no recipe, to the point all the silver I got from it is enough to buy it on the market. RNG is a bitch!

no contest, Didel tower shield. SPR:mdef is about 5:1

you also get more con and def.

didel also has 2 slots

Thanks! While we are on it, let me ask you guidance:

The recipe is on sale for 600k, while the shield +0 with no gems is on sale for 2.3kk

Should I buy the recipe or the shield?

And for the two slots, there are any better option than two Block gems?

Green gems/Red

Red will be buffed pretty soon

about the recipe/item itself, it’s up to you if you can get the required mats easily, you don’t lose potential on trades anymore anyway so feel free to do whatever method you want

but if you’re asking me, crafting it is very easy.

crafting it also gives you journal points if you’re into that

But are you sure it is worth offensive gems for the shield?

the only moment i’ll be using it is when i’m out of my skills, then spamming Throw Spear with Geras, or, against magic monsters

Most of the time i’ll be with 2 H Spear

Since you’re dealing with mage monsters with that shield there’s little point in putting more physical defenses unless you want a mix.

with that you’re also killing mage monsters faster

You should be aiming for Lion Head Shield or Solmiki. Thus, getting a budget shield, in this case Didel, is better.

Agree, sage wall had its day, now its more of a relic from the past.

Hm, never heard of that, neither found anything related to it on tos base.

Can you please elaborate more about these two shields? Where i can get them?

ToSBase looks dead with their items database.
