Did IMC say anything about add-ons? Mainly the quest add-on? Or it’s not decided yet whether it’s legal or not? I play the Indonesian server and the GMs there sometimes claim that any kind of add-ons are illegal, but sometimes they would say that it’s not decided yet, and sometimes they would also say that they haven’t discussed this with the developer, but they should follow IMC’s rules, right? Would it be possible if my country’s server has its own rules, different from the Korean server?

Would they know if I use it?

The quest add on shows you information that you can already look up on Tosbase.com and any other fansite.
Problem with the add-on that got people banned was it allowed you access to a feature that you were supposed to be In the town for.
So they weren’t just getting already available information, they were gaining access to a feature where they werent supposed to.
Addons aren’t only about giving obtainable information or non-obtainable information. How does the Drop Addon (items dropped will glow shine with a laser beam that goes from the floor to the sky with this addon) are going to fit in those options? Is this addon giving obtainable information trough sites, databases and guides? Or is it giving unobtainable and restricted information that were datamined from the core files? Which option? A or B?
I think the discussion it’s more about addons that allows anormal gameplay (as you said, gain acess to feature that the player isn’t supposed to do) than about addons that give obtainable vs unobnainable information
That is information though its helping you to see the drop. This isn’t information you’re not supposed to have, they try to present it to you (but sometimes its hard to see or gets lost under textures)
The drop isn’t invisible (or at least not intended to be).
Making this more visible isn’t a problem.
Add ons are fairly flexible but they’re often just visual changes or displaying information.
The quest add-on was originally a feature that was promised by IMC during CBT2 I believe. But up to this day it was never implemented hence the birth of this AddOn. So technically it’s not illegal.
But the bigger question here is that, are the data being accessed by the AddOn intended to be accessible in the client side? Since game tools or AddOns should we call it, I believe, should only be allowed to touch what’s in the client side and not the server side. It’s either intended or it is another flaw of the game that allows the access of such things. Therefore nobody knows if this is legal or not other than the developers itself.
Up to now there has been no word from IMC about which AddOns can be used. For the mean time, please refrain from using one or if you happen to have one and you haven’t been warned or banned yet, please keep it that way.
