Did I already mess up my build?

Class and Rank Cleric

Hey guys,

My cleric is currently level 48 . I have 2 Ranks in cleric and 1 Rank in priest.
The problem is that I have put all my stat points into STR. I thought I’d be doing some auto attacking until higher levels and then change back to spellcasting BUT then I heard that there are no stat reset points in the game right now. I don’t want to delete my cleric. Can anyone help me and tell me if it would be alright if I pump my stats into dex and con for a while and go chaplain/monk? Will I be able to keep people alive in dungeons?
I would be SO SO SO happy If anyone could tell me what to do with my stats or could tell me what build to go for strength focused melee/dps cleric.

Problem is that you went cleric 2 and strength.

If you went strength and priest c2, you would have blessing + sacrament, which is beast, especially if you’re playing a battle priest (str for the most part).

Anyway, get your blessing attributes up, asap. Just go to the priest trainer, sit there and train blessing for a while.

Don’t put anything into CON and don’t put anything into Dex (Yet. First reach a good amount of str, 100+). Monstrance got you covered for the dex in the early game. Once you reach decent amount of str, then start adding dex for more crit.

Requirement for Chaplain is c3 Priest, so you can forget about that. Unless you are okay with just c1 monk, which you shouldn’t be, 'cause Kamehameha, god damn it.

To be fair, level 48 is nothing, if you’re unhappy, better restart now. Better than regretting all the leveling later.

EDIT:
Not that you have to restart, cleric’s not bad, it’s just that if you wanted chaplain, you needed to go c3 priest, right after cleric c1.

Anyway, you can do c2 cleric > c2 priest > c2 monk > c3 priest. Then when rank 8 opens up, you can pick up chaplain and after that just go for some other class on rank 9 when it’s open, c3 monk is nothing special.

Thank you Skygrinder ! So in other words. All I can do now is being a poor monk without rank 3? Oh man ;( I think I will have to delete my first character

Better do, it’s just 2 days. Don’t be frustrated when in a month you realise you messed up :slight_smile: I deleted my first character after a few hours of playing, at first I felt weird about it but now I’m happy. Also put wrong points in stats for my cleric;)

He can, but he will be stuck with c1 monk then and he wants c2+ monk.

No no, it doesn’t have to be monk. What I meant was either chaplain OR monk (sorry english is not my native language).

What would be a good pick after Chaplain?

You’re in a very weird place honestly. Full str with all support classes, no real physical attack skills. It’s just not something I would do.

If you’re going JUST chaplain, then you’re pretty much full support, especially with just 1 rank left in the end, not much you can do with a strength based chaplain, you can pretty much just auto-attack.

Personally, I’d restart. THEN decide do you want to be a support or do you want to be a semi-support, but have more impact on combat directly.

I personally always choose the latter, because I hate depending on groups too much.

I played priest in iCBT1, played priest into paladin INTO monk in iCBT2. Kinda regretted going monk, not that it’s bad, it’s just that I really liked paladin, plus monk is super mainstream, everyone’s playing it.

I have my own setup here that I am planning to play somewhere down the road. I’ll share it.

The reason I’m not playing this build right away from the start of EA is because I need another rank to pick up Chaplain and actually be happy with the build. So I left it for later, BUT this build is totally fine without Chaplain.

Edit: I’ve been looking at this build for a bit and I don’t think I wouldn’t go with stone skin, but I’d probably get it if I leveled it now, until chaplain is open, then I would restart and remove stone skin to max aspersion and get 1 level in exorcise to be able to use magnus exorcismus.

It’s about buffing yourself and smiting ■■■■ left and right. It’s a str+dex build, focusing mostly on str in early and covering dex in early with monstrance and later on putting points into dex.

Auto attacking strength based Chaplain sounds so weak. Oh man. I think there is no way that this build will end up in a decent shape… I will wait another day to think about it but right now I think it’s best to start a new cleric and do what I initially wanted to do (being an offensive spellcaster).

it’s not that it’s weak, you’d still be mostly a support, and your auto-attacks would be decent in the party to speed up the clears A BIT, I guess. But support-wise, you would be outshined by any other chaplain that actually built his character for pure supporting.

However, I think that a battle priest that takes one offensive (monk) or offensive/defensive (paladin) class is more beneficial to the party, as they can speed up the clears much more and you will actually feel good about your character while soloing.

the most annoying part isn’t even starting from scratch. It’s that I claimed my founder pack companion and I think there is no way I can use my companion on my second cleric. plus the costume I bought from the tp shop… farewell… oh man ,second day in this game and I am already totally pissed.

Edit: Nevermind . Found out how to use the pet on a new toon. So farewell costume ? :smiley:

Chaplain is far better with int/spr/con instead of str, so i wouldn’t recommend it tbh.

Besides cleric2 is quite good.

You can still go for a:

  • Cleric2/Dievdirby1/Paladin3/x
  • Cleric2/Dievdirby2/Monk2+
  • Cleric2/Bokor2/Monk2+

You don’t have to restart.

They give stat pot reset during events/compensation packages.

Only as a support. If he wants to enjoy the game when soloing, strength is by far better choice for a chaplain + paladin/monk.

Well, if he was going on without paladin or monk, int/spr is really the only way he can go, str is not only worse then, it’s pointless.

Ah right, sorry my bad. Probably need to get some shut eye.

There’s some pvp oriented priest builds that do take cleric2, but then your stats are wasted.

You can’t put the costume in the team storage either?

As other said though, if you have money to get a stats restart, then you can easily fix everything and do a good chaplain support build from that.

But seriously, 48 is nothing, no need to waste money, just restart the character. We were hitting level 60 within like 3 hours back in iCBT2 by just rushing all the maps up to tenet dungeon and leveling in there.

I already used to stat reset potion which was in the founders pack. I think I will have to wait until they give out stat potions during special events or in compensation packages. then I will go full support chaplain and take PD as 7th rank.

I think there is no way to save the costume though.

So, do you think people would invite a cleric c1 to their party? I am really worried about it because heal lv. 5 doesn’t seem very good
