Did Episode 12 kill solo play?

First of, I’m from Fedimian. I don’t have as much time to play as I used to, but even when I am able to be online for a couple of hours straight, I rarely see any public CM parties or public raids. I remember that in Episode 11 I could farm maps for materials, elites or map bosses, all of which seems to be gone. I’m a decently geared returning player - fully ichored Velcoffer, Drakonas Pasiutes set, so farming Episode 12 doesn’t present much of a challenge, but then again, there is no point to do it anymore?

I can’t find a CM party and even if I make one, it can take up to 30 minute to fill it up. I reached level 450 and I’m completely clueless about what to do at this point, because everyone seems to be running private parties with the remaining player base and solo play seems to be dead? I can solo CMs up to stage 5 in Vien/West, but even when I do them with a full party, I see 1-3 purple drops at best. How am I supposed to farm ichors, if the drops are non existant?

Am I doing something wrong, or is Episode 12 really weird? I can play for 2-3 hours, but I don’t have time to wait for hours to find someone to group with.

I really like the aesthetic of this game and I wouldn’t mind to solo grind maps for hours.

I play on fedi too and have no problem joining/creating a cm party, so maybe you’re online at the wrong time ?

Ichor farming relies on magnifiers and item reidentification now, it’s more about finding the item you need, preferably primus then rerolling its stats until you get what you want. You get all the magnifiers and powder you need with events and CM so even if you can only play a few hours a day it shouldn’t be a problem.

Also farming elites from 430+ maps can drop vaivora weapons so it’s still worth it.

I’ll be honest. When I look at the Episode 12 drop rates and the ability to farm loot, I see a system designed to sell as much cash-shop magnifiers as humanly possible. I always commended ToS for being relatively free of pay to win, but this was a pretty obvious shift to the pay to win model. I mean in Episode 11, you could farm legendaries in normal maps and while I can’t recall the name of the legendary material right now, I know I could get 3-6 of them per day just by grinding maps. Crafted gear was also completely shifted to Raids, which is probably not a coincidence, as you can also get raid stones out of the cash shop.

I’m not going to defend IMC’s practices but if you think you need to pay real money to get magnifiers or raid stones you haven’t been paying attention.

Yes the loot system has changed from “loot as many items as possible and hope one gets the rolls you need” to “loot an item and change it little by little to get the rolls you want” and imo that’s a good thing.

Now if you prefer to mindlessly grind CMs and maps until you find the right item then here’s what you can do : sell your drops + nucle powder until you get enough money to buy the item you want.

Curious what build you running? I am amazed you can solo cm5 on the new maps as a returnee

Cheese build. Peltasta, Blossom, Barb. I have 90k def to outtank everything and enough damage to catch the time limit.

Would you care to explain what are the top 3 most common options to obtain magnifiers? I’ve been doing the new event for vouchers, but I would assume the rest are locked behind some activity, such as battlegrounds?

1-current event, between the cubes and the shop you can get a ton of them
2-any kind of farming in the 430+ maps, CM or emergency quests
3-vaivora shop I guess

more like encourage party play

its suck to having online time when everyone dont,i experienced it too when i played in my region server, thats why i move to itos main server klaipeda

magnifiers are so cheap now at least in klaip.its like 170k now.3-4 weeks ago it cost like 500k.thanks to the event and goddess grace.but the event will end and goddess grace will also change its rewards.so theres a chance the price will rise again in the future. if you are some market mafia or wanna be one you can hoard them now and sell later.or not.

Just rolled through 75 Magnifiers. Saw 4 slots 4 times, 3 slots 5 times. Complete garbage, not even one was worth keeping. I saw critical rate once, as a single roll.

Making a point of ‘cash shop’ magnifiers is a bit unfair. Hundreds are coming in from events and Moringponia(edit: forgot CM6+7). Not aware of anyone buying them since Savi was the big cheese.

That being said I’d recommend buying a primus 6 line and slapping it with sandras (again from Moringponia).
