It’s funny cuz how I act on this forum is unfiltered but doesn’t represent my skills at being able to act mature, calm, collected and intelligent in a situation where I need to be that way.
No point in filtering who I am when in a casual social environment. Plus if I ever wanted to become real friends with someone here outside these forums, they’d at least know who I am (personality-wise) here and now, rather than finding out later lol.

@FlanFlan I didn’t mean those words as an insult or generalization of your character, but rather that of the ideal mod. Must always be neutral and thick skinned. Always being the key word. I’m sure you’re a probably interesting person with a myriad of emotions outside the forums. Not everyone here can code, you know. That already makes you stand out.

You do realize people in ‘customer service’ positions put on fake personas all the time right? A lot of people working in these positions are just conforming to a behavioral standard and nothing more.
The only 100% true ‘neutral’ people I know of are scientists (or people with more scientific minds) evaluating the world from a ‘neutral’ perspective in order to get a better understanding of things. Even then it doesn’t imply that they lack opinions on things.
For being a forum moderator the only ‘neutrality’ you need is to not play ‘favorites’. My natural personality doesn’t let me play favorites and I’ve lost friends in the past for calling them out for their bullshit.
As for ‘thick-skinned’ I’m not sure what you mean. Can’t recall a time I’ve publicly cried to anyone like a baby. I’ll gladly debate with people if they call me out and I have the freedom to do so, doesn’t mean I’m weak.
It’s also interesting to note that Blizzard forum moderators troll people all the time and it’s pretty funny stuff:

I can confirm this because my job history has a ton of customer service/food industry experience and I had to put on a face daily.As well as suppress some violent thoughts but that’s just part of the job…
