DG 140 worth doing?

I’ve stopped playing before r8. I’ve read somewhere that they’ve nerfed this dungeon to discourage silver farming. How was this nerfed exactly? Did they lower the silver or buffed the mobs? If they buffed the mobs, do people still grind this dg for exp? I’ve seen people mentioning on shouts that it isn’t worth doing for exp.

Hi @tonyostark!

To be fair I don’t do runs on d140 (old d130) and d170 (old d145) so I don’t know if the silver drop was reduced.

I do think that runs for farming silver are still viable depending on the clear time. I’d recommend d170 over d140 if you can complete it within a reasonable time.

Also, for sure buffing mobs isn’t an issue. In this case they are kind of buffed because they are scaled to the new dungeon level comparing to before.

I’m pretty sure that wherever you read about dungeon farming nerf was about silver drop. Someone else could confirm this but it should still be viable even if it was nerfed.

And yes, people still runs dungeons for experience, mainly with the queue system for the bonus.

If you didn’t check it yet, these are the new dungeon levels:

  • Readjusted level requirements for dungeons:
    • Historic Site Ruins (Lv 90 >> 80) [1 Star]
    • Monument of Desire Dungeon (Lv 115 >> 110) [2 Stars]
    • Fallen Legwyn Family Dungeon (Lv 130 >> 140) [2 Stars]
    • Hollow Thorn Forest (Lv 145 >> 170) [2 Stars]
    • Archmage Tower Dungeon (Lv 190 >> 200) [3 Stars]
    • Underground Catacombs Dungeon (Lv 200 >> 230) [3 Stars]
    • Blue Fortress Dungeon (Lv 240 >> 260) [3 Stars]

With the new distribution it helps to push you to Lv.170 along with other dailies, especially because it’s so near the exp curve reset.

And there’s as well the d290 (Castle Dungeon) introduced with the Rank 8 patch which currently gives a reasonable amount silver by either rushing the boss or doing full runs. You also can get Artilonium (required for some weapons and sells well but kind of rare drop rate) and Paper Cube Recipes (which you can get Lv.315 unique/orange recipes that sells really well but requires silver to reroll and Artilonium and the drop rate is rare which makes it lucky based and most of time not so profitable).

Overall counting only the instance runs of a single character it still gives more silver to run d170 though. With more characters and more instance runs you could get silver by running faster instances/rushes that gives less silver but accumulates by the number of alts.

How are the exp at dg 140 and dg 170? I was able to skip dg 80 using cards and level from 100-150 without any quest exp. Is it now easy to get to 200 (or w/e is the minimum level for alemeth) with just dungeons now? Back then, there was an exp wall somewhere around 150-190.

I’m still contemplating on whether I should just grind dungeons til 200 or resume quests.

Hmm, I didn’t level a character after the changes but as far as I can tell from friends the experience range should be similar to before.

I mean, you can compare the d140 with the experience you got when doing d130 in the past. The same is valid for d170, you can compare it with the d145 in the past. The experience is reasonably good as far as I can tell by simply seeing that people actually runs those dungeons.

After the dungeon level changes it’s actually more fluid now, there shouldn’t by any exp wall when leveling to 200, you can reach it with only dungeons and Mercenary Post missions.

Even after Lv.200 you can keep doing dungeons and missions if you prefer to but it will get a bit slower by Lv.220 (lower exp from d200, far from d230) and for the next levels.

I’d recommend to still grind a bit or do some quests to complement the exp if you feel the instances aren’t enough and you have more time. By doing only dungeons and missions it can be slow at some levels and take some days, especially before the exp curve resets.

Also keep in mind that the range for getting exp was increased. You get full exp if you’re within the range of 20 levels from the monster which scales down by each level you’re off from this point until it reaches numbers higher than 40 where you get no experience.

Example:
Alemeth Forest is Lv.220, you can grind in a effective way from 200 to 240 but can start a bit early on ~19x or stay a bit more on ~24x and receive a bit less experience.

Started a new char last weekend. The way they revamped the dungeon track is pretty uh extreme. After I hit the 50 dungeon, supplemented by the event dungeon, I pretty much couldn’t stay within the level range of my maps. I’m at 148 currently, and haven’t gotten the chance to do any maps above the 85ish range haha.

The 140 dungeon is worth it imo. I got 7 levels from doing two runs, no tomes or cookies. Do have token and team level bonus up, though.
