Defense Debuff Mechanics ?_?

Lets say my damage is 100, enemy defense blocks 24, if i debuff them 50% defense, i do an extra 12 damage, is that how it works?

If so, is it even worth wasting skill points & waste SP on such skills? would it make more sense to invest in & use a damage skill instead?

Or is my assumption wrong & it works much better than my example ?_?

Do you know how they calculate defense?

sorry i still dont understand, & its not the same dev as RO right? & yes i already know about the different armor types, but that’s not what i’m asking about ,_,

please does any1 know if its worth it to debuff defense or take a damage skill ?_?

As far as I know defense is a flat damage reduction in this game (unlike RO). This means the effectiveness of defense debuffs depend on your build. It’ll be more useful if your class does fast small-damage hits (e.g. Hoplite’s Stabbing), and less useful if your class does slow big damage hits (e.g. Elementalist’s Meteor).

ah i see, thanks, i guess fletcher skill bodkin point is a waste of points then, as it would be hard to line up mutlti shot on a moving enemy afterwards.

It is linear +/-, and it is unlikely to change, I believe.
Someone tried to swap a Full Plate with Leather, and the result is same as the difference between the armor.

As for a 50% debuff, wouldn’t it be powerful at higher level? But is there debuff based on %? It seems some debuff is based on a flat value + a stats value. Eg. Deprotected Zone from Cleric, it is 2 + SPR.
