Which would mean if this game had a complete reset of it’s rating at exactly the free to play launch the overall rating would prolly be much worse no? It only further supports why people shouldn’t give it a positive review because there’s 99 problems but worrying about “fake” reviews ain’t one.
At this point every thing you’ve stated originally that they are “working” on is moot. I guess we should give them 6 more months to fix it.
Hm, likely. Although this time, a large portion of the complaints including ‘Bots’ and ‘Pay to trade’ in their review would have those removed. If they just fixed the server-related issues for SEA/SA, then the game would be in a better state than it was compared to Founders.
They’re handling the Bot issue pretty well compared to before as you’d see if you’re still playing the game, and players can now trade without Tokens, so no, those 2 of 3 things I stated they were working on in the OP are not ‘moot’.
It doesn’t look like you’re trolling, so I’m slightly confused as to how you still didn’t get the point of this thread even after me and others explained it to you; a month later. You don’t really represent your Zodiac sign well lol.
Bots are a huge thing to factor in, the fact that you can report multiple farming bots and hours later still find them farming, is a game killer by itself, cheaters are the most game breaking experience of all.
Game does NOT deserve positive reviews, at least, until bots become mostly unnoticeable, and by that I mean, you wont be finding 5 identical simultaneously running around the same area for 10 hours.
Hours later? Your expectations are set way too high if you expect every bot to be banned within 24 hours after the initial reports. Triple-A companies usually don’t even ban obvious hackers that fast, let alone botting.
That aside, the majority of them are confined to Crystal Mines 1F @ the southeast zone, but the way you worded it makes it look like they’re plagued throughout the server. Maybe it’s because the only channels I check on low-level maps is Ch 1, but could you tell me these areas where there’s a lot of them at?
A Triple-A Company usually has tons of staff on payroll and people available to come in on weekends if the situation calls for it. They also usually have at least a few Developers that have been practicing/engaged in their field for at least 8 years, actively involved in their games.
Many companies don’t. It’s something you’ll eventually get used to if you decide to play other popular MMORPG’s in the future, especially since RMT-deployed Botting is more prevalent nowadays.
I know this stuff, I WORK developing games, I know how much it involves. Triple A stands for lots of money, and that’s it, the only thing that you can truly expect from triple A games is a lot of marketing. And as you might expect, there are good developers, and bad developers, regardless of their time on the field.
And, that many companies dont address the issue, is more of a economic decision than a product quality one, almost every crappy decision is taken because its better one for the profit in the short term gain, they are often tough, not a good long term economic decision. So, that many companies avoid addressing something does not mean its a good thing, it rarely is.
Also, yes, even if they have a lot of funds and regardless of their staff expertise, bad design and decisions can still be done. The point I was getting at was that the Bot issue is common even among companies with a higher standing than IMC. Ontop of that, they’ve done a pretty good job handling them this month compared to April, and your first post saying this:
threw me off because from what I’ve seen lately, they are mostly unnoticeable (minus the obvious Crystal Mines 1F lower-spot that they head towards often). I was curious of where these spots you’ve seen them running around rampant are, since I might’ve missed them.
If bots are mostly unnoticeable for you, you must be either the luckiest man playing this game, or a troll.
Don’t try so hard to be a mediocrity justifier. Bots were, are, and will be a major player in the downfall of many of those games you are using as your standard.
I kid you not that a single person working on private server software will fix these problems in less time while working another job on no budget. Get real people there is no excuse. Channels cant even hold over 100 people currently so dont try to use official servers have more players BS.
Too bad I saw someone in Inner Enciente District who is level 203 with a Magas Mace and Arde Dagger. Keeps walking in repeated patterns and doesn’t even decline pt requests. Attacks anvils as well. (Ranked 63k in adventurer journal)
I don’t see how asking you for areas where these bots are prevalent at, so much so that it’s the deciding reason you think the game doesn’t deserve a positive review until they become unnoticeable, makes me come off as a ‘troll’. I see bots running around of course, but nowhere near as bad as to what you’re making it out to be other than one specific spot in one specific map, which is Crystal Mines. If you didn’t know any spots, all you had to tell me was “Can’t remember atm”.
And yeah, Bots are one of the major issues in MMORPG’s, but right now in this MMO, they’re not. They’re on the totem underneath server stability and optimization, and even then, they’re not rampant everywhere from what I’ve seen (And apparently from what you’ve seen too).
Nice forecast. I kid you not that I could run a private server and keep it stabilized with the same amount of users this current version has, and have the client properly optimized within a month, and keep the servers mostly bot free, single-handedly, while going to Uni and having a part-time job.
In a dream world.
Ridiculously unlikely, but it’s not impossible. Still, it’s pointless to say “X could do this better than Y” until it actually happens, because I could solve world hunger and Benjagal could become the CEO of both Microsoft and Sony, but they amount to nothing at the end of the day when nothing changes.
I saw a Lvl 210 something Cleric with a Venom Dagger botting in that snow map. I talked to him, ks’d him, and took his heal tiles and he never said anything or even stopped his pattern, until about 5-10 minutes later when he checked back on his game and responded through whisper.
