Curious on how IMC would handle future updates

It’s weird for me that they seem to be shipping ToS as an already finished product (content wise)

-Full world map is already showcased with all the available maps.
-90% of the class already revealed.
-Max level is set.

I mean how would they make another content? More maps? More class? Or just release OBT with bare minimum and just release content we already know bit by bit?

Level cap for OBT is 350, however the maps go up to 472, which you can’t really access, so we can assume the level cap will be eventually raised to something beyond 472.

I don’t think they’ll add more maps, maybe way into the future, but they can certainly increase the level of maps (previously it went to 600).

They can add more raids (currently there are none, 1 light raid will be added soon). Dungeons, items, etc.

They can add new forms of PvP, guild pvp, some form of progressive pvp (territory, castle, etc).

They can also add new classes, or hidden classes, or entirely new base classes that lead into new classes, or even a rebirth system. There’s plenty they could do.

I’m sure they’ll probably think of something out of the box, as they have been.

I hope so . Right now i feel the game a bit empty but with beautiful maps and nice fight mechanics.

True, I was just suprised on how many contents we already have from the get go. I wonder if they would release cross-class system haha where you can get tier from another class tree.

i wish to have this update to the story:
cursed rebirth - rebirth with the cursed spirit, the savior has been cursed and became the servant of the dark.
opposed to the original savior role, the cursed savior found out the truth of the tragedy and decided to destroy the world and goodness
enable the use of cursed skills (a slightly modification of the orignial skills)

something like that
it sounds fun :relaxed:

Well I think the maps needs more topographical variation. We need a snowy map, beach map, dessert (might already exist), underwater, volcano/lava, etc.

Because I am so tired of seeing damn farms over and over again.

Is this your first mmorpg? None of these things are set in stone, maybe these things were just a goal for release day, but if the game is successful enough they can easily add more maps, classes, and increase the max level.

Not really my first, I am just surprised on how much content they have already in store and just wondering how they would top it up for the longevity of the game.

Have faith on IMC, they are not noobs in this kind of industry, pretty sure they still have surprises stored for us :sparkles:

Wouldnt it be handled just like Ragnarok Online in the past?

As for to top it up the game didnt introduce Guild system yet, which is common for any RPG. maybe there is a plan going there, maybe. then IF there is guild system you can expect GVG war

Well when RO was released in OBT, it has like 5 1st job and it’s 2nd job counter part (no idea if mage was released back then) and just a handful of city (pron/morroc/payon/alberta)

In ToS, we aren’t even at OBT and we already know the 80 classes and the whole map.

But then again, if they have the imagination to start with tons of stuffs already, I just assume they have a lot down their sleeves as well.

I agree this game has a lot of contents already but I think it’s because nowdays a game couldn’t be competitive enough on the market the other way. There weren’t too much mmo games out there in the time of Ragnarok… that was so different. They were actually still experimenting on something that wasn’t too common. Now new games have to try to compete with the mostly finished games too… so I’m sure they can’t come out such small content as Ragnarok did at that time and compared to RO they can know now more what they want. It’s less experimenting now.

Well true, ToS has tons of stuff upfront. I am just afraid that since they left so much on the table that they wont be updating it for a while causing it to get stale.

I too am curious about what’s outside the box :stuck_out_tongue:
But they first need to show more about the promises and announced features (thinking about the guild system, the housing feature,…)

Threads like this put them under heavy pressure.
The only thing they are concerned about right now is delivering a product that gets enough attention and satisfies the crowd. It’s too early to demand on future content.

The only thing i worry about is balance, with this high amount of classes available right from the start, they may have to focus a huge majority of their time on constantly trying to balance things instead of releasing new maps, items, additional classes, etc. Then again, if it takes years for people to hit max level, they can’t even begin really testing the balance yet.

That is why there is a test server with super high exp rates, so people can reach end-game in a couple days and IMC can see how classes work in a real environment.

There are class balances every single day, but class balancing is something I believe is always ongoing.

But the max level is currently 200-250 for those tests, and i think they said OBT will only have a max of 350, so they are balancing things for those levels/ranks specifically, they haven’t even started testing balance for the classes that haven’t been revealed yet for ranks 7+ and level 500 or whatever the max level will be. Although i do hope at some point in the OBT they open up everything to be tested, all ranks and max level, even if they have to wipe it lol.

They also said 8 more classes would be revealed before OBT, so I assume they’ll probably test more classes during that time.

I can agree though, I’m not 100% sure how they’ll test hidden classes.

i think they don’t need to ask players to test hidden classes
they shouldv tested themselves
players are used to test the general system…so for hidden classes i think if they really not work out in game, they will update patch to fix it
