Crit Rate and other Game Mechanics questions

Hoping for some experienced players from iCBT or kCBT to answer these questions.

  1. Crit Rate - How much is necessary to hit 100%? Apparently not 100
  2. Party exp - Is there an exp boost in a group of 5? Or does the exp become abysmally low at that point.
  3. Blue mob mechanics - I understand that it is purely random, but are there special methods people use to hunt them efficiently? (though I guess it wouldn’t be too wise to reveal them on a public forum)
  4. PvP builds - How important is CON for PvP? I know many would want to minmax STR/DEX/INT especially since stats give more frequent bonuses at 60+ so I’ve wondered if anyone researched on optimal builds for PvP.
  5. Gems - According to the latest patch using npc wood to upgrade gems would no longer work. How do people level their gems efficiently then? I’m guessing getting them to level 3-4 would make the most sense, since 5 and above gives diminishing returns.

Thanks for answering! I’ve tried scouring the forums and fansites and wikis for more info but it gets overwhelming sometimes

5: sit > upgrade gem

  1. The formula is based on your crit rate vs enemy crit resistance, so it varies.

  3. I was using Quarrel Shooter Stone Pickup but I assume that will be removed at some point ‘shrug’.

gem level 4 > level 5 need 10700 exp

Ah, so that’s what abrasives look like, never found one!

  1. Like @robkyuur said, it likely has to do with crit resistance. If not, there’s probably some arbitrary number that scales with your level.

  2. Yes, there’s very little reason not to party.

  3. Completely random, I was soloing once while searching for a party and had 3 spawn on top of me in during a 10-minute window.

  4. I heard CON was actually preferred in PvP to avoid exploding from your opponents’ initial bursts.

  5. I bought cheap materials off the auction house to upgrade my gems.

This video may give you some insight on how viable CON may be for PvP. And judging from the description, it seems mages are able to invest into CON more without needing DEX for accuracy.

In general it seems a little pointless to go int or str because they give so little atk/matk, while DEX and CON are better? That’s the vibe I’ve been getting after reading several threads.

Thanks for the gem info. What can be used to feed gems aside from other gems, abrasives and wood?

Afaik you can feed it any kind of monster drop. But it’ll only give you 5 exp per.
