Crit % (HOW DOES IT WORK?)

Programming the crit rate formula to divide by our level is a major reason swordsman are underpowered and have to go to such extremes to use it.

Thematically archers got innate critical rate, swordsman got critical attack damage. The problem is swordsman that invest in strength has dormant/locked away damage in critical attack. The problem isn’t full with monsters gaining more and more crit resistance, it’s that as a swordsman levels it gets harder and harder to crit because of the formula.

An interesting way to solve the problem could be to have a different crit rare formula for ranged vs melee, have some future 8star swords have crit rate, or have future 8star swords have more gem slots.

Three gem slots especially for late game two handed swords would be nice and players will still have to work for their damage if you’d like to take a “nothing in life’s for free” stance. But internal testing might show an extra 30-40 crit rate alone might not be enough when the formula divides the rate by a level over 250. Also when the level cap goes over 300 swordsman will see their critical hits disappear again. Regardless how it is done, there should be ways for swordsman to have access to their critical attack damage stat. Even if the methods are unveiled on the 270 swords at least there is hope while players level swordsman who have to through auto attacking for 600 on monsters with over 20,000 hp.

The jump in weapon strength between tiers is not linear.
The jump in health between mobs is also not linear.
Strength falls off in relative value if you don’t pump it because of mob health.
You fall into the same problem whether you pump dex or pump strength, whether you are an Archer, Cleric or Swordsman.
INT has the same deal for Cleric and Wizard.

1 point of strength is 1% of the health of a 100 health enemy.
It is 0.001% the health of a 100,000 enemy.

To maintain relative value in strength you have to continually increase Strength as AA damage is flat.

Critical hits are a 50% modifier. So while you may need more Dex the, contribution of Dex to damage is consistently 50% @ minimum when it happens.

Swordsmen aren’t crying out for Crit Rate.
There are plenty of ways for Swordsmen to have damage to critical attack stat, and outside of Highlanders 2H attribute, Swordsmen have no more “claim” over critical attack then anybody else, Strength is a recommended stat for Clerics, Archers and Swordsmen alike.

Zaicai buff from Krivis.
General Dex investment.
Finestra.
Double Slash 35% crit chance attribute.
Moulinet crit rate attribute.
Steed Charge 100% crit chance on Slowed enemies.
Accelerate crit rate modifier.
Green gems.
Crit rate gear
Continually invest in Dex or hybridize.

Get real. While Archers do get more accuracy, crit rate and evasion.
Swordsmen get more base health, more health recovery, 2 more buff slots, The highest base aoe ratio (4) and in the Block = Lvl/2 + Con + (lvl*0.03) x “2” formula the quoted 2 applies only to Swordsmen, giving them inherently more natural Block then everyone else. In Ktos Swordsmen gain 1.3 physical power for each point in strength compared to everyone else getting 1. In Ktos they gain 1.2 Block Penetration from Strength compared to everyone else (well I didn’t Wizards, but its a safe bet) to everyone else getting 1.

Holy.
Flying.
Fuk.

Swordsmen have so many base stat advantages at this point arguing that their lacking anything base stat wise is down right insane.

Swordsmen in general do not have as many powerful damaging skills as some Archer, Swordsmen and Cleric classes do. That’s all there is to it.
They have Pouncing (ktos version), Rush and Cyclone as very powerful multi-hit moves.

The Crit rate formula isn’t hurting swordsmen, its very neutral outside of Archers inherit +1 crit rate every 5 levels, which is so incredibly meagre relative to all the base stat bonuses Swordsmen have been given outside of a what 0.9x modifier to MP gain from SPR (but who has a high SPR Swordsmen to even care about this?). Not seriously trying to act that 8.4% more crit chance at level 280 (which is 4.2% more average damage) means jack squat at a base level, when at a base level Swordmen hit up to 4x the targets Archers do until skills get involved, which is a potential 400% damage difference.
Swordsmen literally are differentiated from everyone else via their Skillset, and otherwise have a huge statistical advantage over every other class in this game.

so tl;dr; version is:

If all classes are at lvl 280 and they only auto attack, swordsmen are the best class!

From the long comment above, doesn’t that mean swordsman should go str/con instead of dex?

Basically.
Prior to skills, wizards are the worst class in the game.
However Wizards have great skills so that isn’t a problem.

@Pippo
All depends on what you’re trying to do. If it just damage, you’re not going to be on top regardless because Swordsmen don’t have competitive attack skills.

so a class that goes full con in pvp, pretty much your crit wont probably able to pop, and worst if the person has an Aias shield. Pretty much uncrit-able

The swordsman path that doesn’t have to deal with not getting access to their critical attack damage is s1pel1hop1cata3 x. It’s the best of all worlds, has oppertunity to use their crit damage, speed from riding, pelt for farming mobs, and able to use piercing autos for high hp plate and leather mobs.
