Crafting Makes No Sense

Maybe it’s just me, but I think weapons/armor/accessories for level 40 characters should be obtainable by level 40 characters. Why on Earth are the materials to make a beginner level weapon only dropped by level 140+ mobs? By the time I can kill level 140 mobs do you really think I am going to want a weapon that is 100 levels below me?

I mean, for the rarer items like purple/red level I could see maybe monsters 10-15-ish levels higher dropping them, because those weapons will continue to be good for a while and should be a challenge to get. But for a blue-rank or lower weapon/armor/etc. you shouldn’t have to fight monsters 4x the level of the item to get the mats for it.

And before anyone asks, no I’m not talking about a specific weapon/armor/etc, there are a LOT of them like this in the game.

This needs an example. Afaik there are no recipes that need resources not available around that item’s level. What could be possible is that you havent found a location/monster where needed materials drop.

I’m not in the game and it’s 7 AM so I don’t want to spend an hour looking through ToSBase to find weapons with their crafting recipes actually filled out, so here are three off the top of my head.

Grand Spontoon, level 75 to use it. Requires 12 Stoulet Hearts. Stoulets are level 120-140 last I checked.

Silver Spear is level 40. What drops the recipe? Level 100 monster.

Protas Boots require level 40 and some of the mats are dropped by level 70~ monsters.

lvl 76 monster. Next is 106 mage.

Since game is using level ranges having some drops to be accrued from higher leveled monsters from that level range is normal. Also if item says it can be equipped at lvl 40 doesnt really mean that it is supposed to be equipped exactly at level 40. That is especially true for blue or purple grade items.
