Couple of questions pertaining to ping, caster/AA builds

So essentially I’ve been playing Musketeer I went a Caster build because I have a fluctuating ping of 110-210 ping, but seems to be more around the 150-180 side with occasionally spiking to the high and low. The reason I went caster is because I heard AAing is horrible at anything above 100. But the issue is I feel really weak, like horribly weak.

I went Archer 2 -> Sapper 3 - > Appraiser -> Musketeer 2 even though I wanted to go the AA route but because I heard how badly ping affects AAing I went caster route.

I also feel like aside from broom trap Sapper is horrible and half the time I feel like I’m waiting on CD’s on caster type musketeer. While I see other AA classes like SR autoing and melting things as if they have a permanent covering fire skill, while I use mine twice and have to wait.

So my questions are

How much does ping affect AAing?

Is there an actual way to reduce ping, or at least stop it from fluctuating so much?(I’ve never played a game where I jump 100 ping constantly unless I’m having internet issues)

Is the server actually in US Virginia, and if so why is the ingame ping so much higher than the ping check to the Amazon server at that location?

If I switched to AA Musketeer would I be losing out on a lot of dps, to the point that it actually really matters?

Is Caster Musketeer a lot weaker than AA Musketeer?

Does Caster Musketeer take time to scale?

Is Sapper actually strong/good aside from Broom Trap?

Communicating with the host is different than with the game server, the game server is not optimized in any way, so the latency will go higher, also, I’m almost sure that the game have a built-in Telemetry that send data from the game client to the server for analysis (although they probably don’t use it anyway), if not, it’s plain and simple bad coded netcode.

If you are close to the server (ea: in the same country) and still have ping issues, it could be internet settings, also, if you are playing under wireless, you will suffer even more, as wireless adapters aren’t properly optimized like routers, also, many things cause interference with the signal (TVs, mirror, microwave, metallic structure in the wall or even furniture made of metal).

What I mean with the above is, at my house I got the main router, where the fiber ONT is plugged, and in my room on the base floor I got another router receiving the signal from the main router, and my laptop is connected through cable to that router.

If I connect to the main router (the signal is really good and I could keep that way but…) my download speed drop by more than half of the actual plan I have (my max download speed is 6.2MB/s in a stable connection), but if I connect with cable on my secondary router here in my room, the download work fully.

I also noticed that the latency is affected by this, so for me is working well.

I will cut some slack on technical crap here because no matter what you try, if the server is not properly coded you will suffer same way.

The above explanation may give you one solution in case you are in wireless connection.

Any class will become good if you have a good weapon, ea:

  • Primus (Orange) or similar +15 or more with transcendence stage 5 or above.

I have a couple of AA chars, my latency is pretty high since I’m on SA region and play on NA server, and lag spikes are constantly plaguing me, but it’s extreme in maps with bots.

The major problem with Musketeer is that Serenity is bugged so the damage is oscillating, It has been this way for more than a month now. Another down for AA builds is the problem with defense of mobs like WB and CM since this kind of gameplay doesn’t have so many damage modifiers like Skills have. I think they should improve AA damage for CM and WB, it seems pretty useless for both or It isn’t working as intended as everything in the game.

Ping affects AA quite a fair bit. I’ve tried AA builds on the server I play (20-30ms) , on kTest (200-300ms) and on Klaipeda server (500-1k ms). The difference in auto attacking and using skills that has the [attack speed] tag between the servers is significant enough to make me reconsider some of the builds I’m making.

For example, in Telsiai I can fit in quite a number of fast startup, fast recovery [attack speed] type skills within an armor debuff window of 3 secs. 6 in fact, 3x Trident Finisher, 2x Te Kha, 1x Te Trong.

But over on kTest where the ping is at 200-300ms I can barely even fit in 3 attacks in that window. And over on Klaipeda I can’t even fit in 2 attacks within that debuff window. Thus making it not really optimal for players to play AA builds if ping is high.
