Hi ppl, I want to follow the corsair path for pvp mainly and ofc some pve capability as well ( I need to lvl in the end of the day). So far I am considering two builds:
I didn’t choose the skillsets cause I intent to reset at a certain lvl to make lvling easier.

corsair n hoplite definitely has better synergy
What about having barbarian skills for PVP ? is worth loosing finestra ?
Using spear + dagger over a two handed spear, will I loose too much damage on skills ?
Going hop 2 > corsair 2 > Doppel is also an option I forgott
no idea about barb didnt play that.
Spear + dagger vs 2h spear i not sure but dragoon passive increase dmg when using 2h spear
if not for dragoon passive, i tink both about the same
Both have different styles. Going Hoplite and Corsair means you gonna rely on limited AOE skills until you reach Corsair C2 - Hexen Dropper or Doppel’s Cyclone. But you will have high critical rate due to Finestra lvl 10. Good against single target like boss.
Going Barbarian C2 before Corsair gives u AOE skills like Cleave, Seism and attack buffs like Frenzy and Warcry.
I would prefer the first build though.
Having a tough time deciding, anyone that has barbarian on the build can tell me how it fairs in pvp ?
you sort of need barb3 really barb 2 doppel is inferior to the hoplite build.
barb 3 gives you an improved warcry, and a frenzy which you can maintain with half stacks. with the future buff for barbs you can keep both up for a significant amount of time. both synergize very well with dual wielding.
I am barbarian and i don’t recommand it to you to go for it if your objective is PvP.
As said above, you need barbarian C3 to unlock full potential, and it have less synergy with Corsair than One-hand Spear/dagger Hoplite.
Your best way in PvP should be to run around with shield & tons of HP, untill you grap something with your hook, weapon swap, and burst it with Dragoon skills.
With this objective, Finestra crit rate, Spear Lunge +% pierce damages will help you more than few AoE.
Edit: It’s another question if you plan to go for Doppel instead of Dragoon.
If barbarian get kTOS buffs, then Hook > Cleave (+50 crit, +50% slash dmgs) > Cyclone should do the work.
im doing the doppel corsair atm. currently lvl 160
im going corsair->doppel->corsair tho. cus doppel’s cyclone helps sooo much when grinding. while corsair c2, (while hexen and dual weapon assault might be great), it’s not as great as doppel’s cyclone in terms of AoEinng
