šŸ‘® Steparu reports of 1000+ Banhammers šŸŽ£

http://steparu.com/latest-news/1943-tree-of-savior-online-ban-hammer-starts-with-1-000-accounts#

After a thorough investigation, IMCGames unleashed the power of the Ban Hammer upon users that exploited bugs, botted, illegal programs, game modification, and more. Perma bans has been sent out on over 1,000 accounts! I’m not sure if the users just get banned on TOS or their whole Nexon account is banned and done for, if it is, then they just screwed over their other Nexon games in their library.

Everytime I think of someone getting hit with the ban hammer I think of Sonic losing all his rings hahaha.

Holy ā– ā– ā– ā–  its the perfect picture hahahaha.

That excuse they gave that its for the stress test (they as the players not IMC) is still stuck on my throat tbh, but i would laugh hard if it was applied on next CBT.

Oh, those banned account are almost caused by casual cellphone number identification
So lots of people abroad have no idea how to pass that check.
Don’t use VPN in KR server. Unstable IP address will make you mistaken as botters =o=

Basing my assumptions on the client.xml file content HackShield or Xigncode either of those, from personal experience, HackShield is less bitchy than Xigncode, so i do hope they go with Hackshield.

Finally! Well Done IMC! Just permanent ban all cheaters, ban their account and their ip address also.

Hurray.
Their ban hammering needs to be appreciated.

kToS is using Xigncode and BlackCipher.

1000 perma bans? I wonder if people understand the extent of this.

In Korea, people use their social/phone/bank to make an account. This means it’s incredibly difficult to just get another account (they would need to buy another one/get it off family/friend, and most people won’t do that).

That’s some extreme reaction, to some pretty bad things. Good on them.

The iron hand of justice prevails lol
Death to all gold sellers, cheaters, and everyone wants to screw ToS :skull:

I think they listened to the masses & common sense.

They might originally think this beforehand but I believe the protests and pressure from KR demanded IMC to take more serious actions.

Thats a very, very good signal for the future. I hope so that is.

Exactly, i once was banned from a game server that i was trying for the first time, didn’t even created a character on the game, and received a ban warning lol, had to restart my router to pick a different IP range.

This is not character/team names but nexon account names.

Red - Real Korean Accounts (or old ā€œfakeā€ accounts)
Black - ā€œFakeā€ Korean Accounts. (Accounts from newg**** obtg*** and others account seller websites)

Good on them indeed. Video games in general always have a vulnerability somewhere, and people will always find an exploit for them. Look at any popular MMO RPG/FPS ever and look at its history on the countless amount of hacks the company had to fight off.

Because it’s pretty much impossible to prevent, what REALLY matters is how fast the company patches up the holes, and how they deal with the exploiters themselves. This sh*t has gone on far too long and harmed too many MMOs. IMC giving the harshest punishment possible is the right decision.

Because once an exploiter always an exploiter, most of the time these people get very little enjoyment out of the game playing it ā€˜legit’ once they had a taste of power that exploits gave them. A minor version of ā€œAbsolute power corrupts absolutelyā€. Once caught, they’ll either find a way to hack and/or exploit again, or quit and move on.

IMC forced the second choice, and I agree: Let the exploiters be a cancer to another MMO community, but NOT this one.
