Bug Description :
It’s happening quite frequently since I came back to the game that I would get an Error 8 when switching map or channel. After the loading screen, my skill bar is empty, I can move around but there are no players or NPC then I get kicked to the lodge with Error 8 message. I am not sure why this is happening so often. My ping is okay I have no issues with my connection outside of the game…it’s just in ToS.
Now, I made 5 (FIVE) support tickets and I did all the steps that were given to me, on the 5th one, they just copy pasted the solution from the first ticket (shame). So I am making this forum thread in a last ditch effort and also to show other people how ridiculous customer support can be (but I think we all know that already)
Steps to reproduce the issue :
Log in
Select Server
Select Channel
Press start
Switch map or channels
Notice character can move, but the map has no NPC and players, disconnects with error 8 after 15 seconds
Again what support has been telling me to do:
1- Click Verify Integrity of Game Cache
2- Delete the ‘user.xml’ and ‘user_c.xml’ files in the Steam\steamapps\common\TreeOfSavior\release folder and try to relaunch Tree of Savior from Steam
3- Disabled my antivirus and firewall before running the game. (which I don’t have anyway I only use Windows Defender)
4- Run ToS from the patch folder.
5- Run ToS as administrator.
6- Clean reinstall
7- No addons
None of these works.
