Connecting an XBOX One controller while playing will crash the game, that and the fact that with an XBox One controller the mouse won’t work in game.
It is already part of the known bugs that an XBONE controller is currently not working in the game. They are already looking into this but the wait for the fix is inevitable.
That must be bummed… I just ended up picking up my PS4 Controller and hooked it up instantly worked I didn’t think there would of been any problems with xBox controllers 
Playstation 3, Playstation4, and Xbox 360 controlls work 100%, just Xbox One needs looking into.
