Concentrate Vs Gung Ho (Now with simple math)

Alright so I looked around the forum a bit and tried to see everyones take in the other posts for it. It seems alot of people agree that Gung Ho is better for swordsmen. Well I wanted to take a closer look at both of these skills and came up with some neat numbers.Basically Gung Ho at lvl 15 gives you 50 physical dmg. Thats huge when you think about what Concentrate gives, Only 26 at level 15. If were lookin at just the skills alone then yeah gung ho is easier the higher damage buff. BUT, it seems to me like everyone has forgot about the Enhance’s that you can upgrade for both of these abilities. Both of those enhances can be leveled to 50 max and both are very different.

For Gung Ho Enhance if maxed at 50 it would give an additional 50 Dmg (1 Per level of enhance) So here with lvl 15 GH and lvl 50 GHE we have a total of +100 Physical Damage. Thats not to bad. Lets not forget that you will also receive a defense debuff for using this ability and the debuff grows by -1 for each level of GHE. This ability also last 135 seconds at lvl 15. Which would be better for prolonged fights. That being said lets look at Concentrate.

Level 15 of Concentrate only gives +26 Damage. Thats alot less than GH right from the start. But unlike gung ho enhance, Concentrate enhance gives 2 damage per level. So maxed out at 50 it gives a bonus +100 Damage bringing the total of it to 126! 26 More damage than gung ho. Keep in mind that You dont recieve a debuff to your defense while using concentrate however You only get 26 hits with this skill. That includes all hits included in an aoe attack or consecutive hits with auto attacks.

It seems to me that Concentrate is more of the late game spell. The only issue with that would be the cooldown on it to keep it up as often as gung ho. Lets hear your thoughts on this guys. Curious to see who if anyone has tried these in game and could share thier experiences.

I use lvl 15 concentrate with 50 bonus levels, i do 126 dmg per hit, but it seems that the 126 dmg isnt effected by enemy defense and does flat damage, it was very useful at the beginning and is still useful so far and im lvl 155

to level it up to 50 doesnt take very long and its cheap too, just lvl it everytime u come back to town, or watch some netflix and time it and get it maxed to 50 really quick as possible

The problem with concentrate is the hit count, expecially if you only go circle 1 swordsman which is pretty common for a lot of builds. It’ll have a lot of downtime unlike Gung Ho.

I’m not sure it really matters which is better though, you’ll always have both and ideally with both attributes maxed. If you are tight for skill points however I would agree that concentrate is far better to level up, the extra “hits” it gains on level up greatly improves its uptime which provides a much larger bonus than the mere +3 damage Gung Ho recieves per level up.

i dont know if concentrate works with skills or not, dont know if its ONLY for auto attack damage

Well from what ive been seeing alot of people like to take both bash and thrust so they only take one buff with them. I can see why since both skills offer something different. Thrust giving more dps with the enhance of extra hits and bash giving decent cc and better aoe. For those players only taking one of the buffs it just interesting to see which would be better for them. My build personally is taking both with bash but im also putting 1 point into pain barrier so im not maxing them both. I mainly just use it defensively for when i see big cc hits coming my way since it last 12 seconds less than if i had maxed it XD Could end up as a bad decision but we shall see XD

the first hit of ur skill will add concentrate bonus.
Ppl say that GH can be multiplied by other skills like double( double pay earn).

Shhh… Not too loud…

If anybody dumps either buff to put extra points into Bash or Thrust then they’ve made a terrible choice. The missing buff would easily make up for the minuscule damage gains these 2 skills gain on level up. Not to mention buffs help everything instead of just these skills.

Bash should only be taken to Lv3 at most if you want the knockdown attribute. Thrust shouldn’t go past Lv1.

Quick and dirty:
Buy blessing from pardoner for leveling till 50-100.
Don’t bother with concentrate.
Max gung ho.

Lolopanther weapons have around 500 atk, with 1500 skill damage it will be 2000 total damage without STR and 4000 with max attribute.
Gungho lv 5 gives 70 damage, 140 with max skill attribute.
Overall Gungho gives 140/4000 = 3.5% bonus skill damage.
It will fall off with more STR, weapon damage, and skill damage.

Does it really worth late game?

i maxed both GH and concentrate. and used them both

No. IMO Gung-Ho and Concentrate are practically useless beyond lower levels, and they should have been % based from the start. Something like a % bonus with +flat damage.

Part of me wonders if they did this so that they can introduce great skills for classes later down the line. It seems more likely, as it makes sense that C9+ are going to have great buffs. If that’s the case then I can’t really complain ><
