[Complaint] Compensation Rewards

Okay so here’s the thing; Yes, I appreciate being compensated with things like dungeon reset vouchers, x8 tomes, challenge reset vouchers, etc etc. That’s great! I will certainly put those to use, I think.

What I don’t like is them being attached with “use by dates”, even though there are non-expiring versions of the same items available. I don’t like it because it turns compensation into homework. Give me a month or two and I might use the 5 x8 tomes, especially if we have double exp events. I might have a day off in the near future where I say “Yeah let’s run 4 challenge modes in a row, why not?”

But when you give me 2 weeks to use the items before they become expired & worthless? Give me a break, really? Now instead of doing whatever I want at a given point, I have to make sure I don’t let these items go to waste immediately. Don’t place the burden on me with compensation rewards when the reason you’re giving them out is because of your own problems in the first place.

So, be nice. Don’t give us compensation items with expiration dates. Let us choose when we want to use these items without having to worry about deadlines.

Yours is a flawed logic. First of all, we can barely blame IMC for what’s happening. Sure things like this shouldn’t happen, but when people break the game on purpose (because when they used those hacks they did so with ill intent), fault’s on them.

Those compensations are for the hours of extended maintenance. They can easily be used to compensate the hours of gameplay people “lost” during this period. If you don’t have “that kind of time”, this compensation isn’t even for you, really.

16 days is pretty much enough to use all those items. 5 hours of miracle seeds and statues, 5 instance resets, for three runs each, sums to about 2 to 4 hours gameplay depending on how fast you do, the CM vouchers can be done all in less than 3 hours and the XP tomes gives you a total of 5 hours with a 300% xp boost. All that sums to way more than a 14 to 20-hour maintenance, specially considering that each tome, for example, is worth about three extra hours of gameplay converted into experience per hour.

You’re ranting and barking at nothing right now.

Sure, having items without an expiration date would be great, but I wouldn’t be that mad at IMC like you sound - at least, not for this specific reason.

It’s even more than 16 days because some of those items can be claimed until oct 10 or 16

You can keep them in mail and select which one to give to which character. As long as the mail itself doesnt have expiration date…

All the compensation mails have short expiration dates. Fact of the matter is I’m being given a compensation for not being able to play, and then being told I only have so long to use it. The only “choice” I have in regards to them is to let them go to waste if I don’t have a chance to use them. Some of us have to make do with our limited schedules to play when we can. Mine is tuesdays for a few hours - but I guess my only real choice is to hold onto a bunch of x8 tomes til next week and hope I can use one or two of them before they expire.

well, if you’re not really scheduled to play during the long maintenance hours, then there’s really nothing to compensate Owo

Pretty sure that the servers being completely inop for 24 hours is not normal, and is what we’re being compensated for. Not for actual maintenance which takes place in the wee hours. So your point is invalid.

The mail expires in a week. The tomes expire in 14 days the second they hit your character. So you have three weeks to figure it out.

They have expiration dates because obviously many people who were not online at all during the downtime should not receive compensation, they didn’t lose anything.

Why should someone who logs in 3 months from now suddenly get a ■■■■ ton of items of this nature?

I think he is talking about timed items
the email to be retrieved may have the expiration date of 1 week just as usual

what i was saying if this person didn’t have enough time to play in the first place then there’s really no point to force himself to make use of all the compensation

eg. player only plays 2 hours on tuesdays

so like, if i don’t play on tuesdays, then all these compensations are like bonus fee stuff. i don’t even have to force myself to use all of it owO

i also used up most of the compensations in a span of 2 hours Owo

all that is left are CM resets and some statues and seeds owO

What in the name of god is “owo” ?

This is actually something I was thinking the other day when I was checking on my limited items that got wasted for not using, since I can’t spend 24/7 on ToS. Now that I read the reason of not active players or gone players receiving those items, makes sense now.

Another thing I was wondering is why can’t limited items be transferred via Storage, if the items remain in the same Team account.

The 8x tomes are the least problem, as you can just use them and park your character(s) in town, the effect won’t run out after you use them unless you leave the town.

You can even do daily Saalus without losing even a second of their time.

The normal EXP tomes can be crafted into two unlimited 4x exp tomes, given you get a normal exp tome(14 days) from log calendar (and there was one recently in one of the event boxes, too).

The only real problems are the reset vouchers and the seeds&statues.
And they can be utilized on weekends. All in all you have two weekends to use them.

Normally, there is no-one who works whole weekends without compensation days on the weekdays (there are a few exceptions like shift workers), so there are two whole weeks to use the items.

If you can’t use them all, that’s Karma. I probably also won’t be able to use all of them, but the rewards are still better than the usual extension compensation of 3x EXP Tome(14 days).

The problem I see with this compensation is that it mainly addresses people who have characters that are not maxed yet. Yes, I have a lot of characters not maxed yet, but I don’t really have a reason to max them at all.

Maxed characters only benefit from the challenge reset vouchers (since challenge cubes & silver & items = income) and can only use the seeds&statues for HP & movement speed boosts (imo there should be better options to do this ingame, Alchemist boost potions aren’t that good [except for the block potion and the movement speed potion] <_<).

I know IMC wants us to grind. But I really want a :tired: plushie as compensation.

Is that too much?

Yes, we’ll never get our popo plushies.
