Companions how do they work?

So i’ve been reading up on companions, and i understand you can purchase two of them from the pet merchant Christina
PETS:

Bell Hidar (Velhider)
367,000 Silver

Hoglan
1,512,000 Silver

Now i was wondering, are there more companions then this? if so how would you go about obtaining them? Is there a way to tame monsters or no? For around 4 years i played a ragnarok priate server called blackout ro and in that game i can capture monsters and turn them into my pet, then use an incubated to change them from their egg form in my inventory to a useable pet

There’s Velhilda, Hoglan and Hawk. Right now you can adopt (buy) them from NPC.
Companions will auto lvl up but you can also train up it stat by pay money to NPC.

Some class can mount or use skill to command it. Other class that don’t have those skill companions will follow around and do auto attack only.

You can transfer companions to other character in same account by put companion in barrack and switch it to other character that you want.

Try to buy a companion as fast as possible as it will have more time to grow.
Im not sure how good the cheap companion are compared to the expensive though but for a limited time duing the beta im definitely saving up to buy a cheaper pet as fast as possible myself.

Or go hunter and enjoy the benefits for free ^^.

They will use skills while being with mage too.

Skill by class to command or use with companion / companion auto attack (some did aoe range) are kinda different.
