Comments on Pally Build

I have been looking forwards to making a pally since i first found out it would be a playable class in Tree of Savior.

I have been researching and researching to find the best builds yet most are primarily damage centric and i wanted a more support oriented build as i will often be leveling with a tank and dps plus i already had C2 priest when i started my research a little late i know.

So i took some time and i put this together this is my planned build http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/s94kpb6vxk/

I would like to know if anyone thinks i will have enough Healing / and if i can do any soloing at all at higher levels. Also if i am very likely to get skipped over as a healer. Thanks for your comments.

I’m rank 4 cleric and even without put int (I put only 10), I heal the entire party on dangeons alone, so heal is not the problem.
Make cleric 2, because the area of heal will be much better than use priest.

Paladin is a very cool class when you go to Paladin 3, because not only is independent for have lots of phisical and magic attacks (if you build a int paladin of course), also you will be very usefull on support with llots of skills for buffs, and pricipal: protection zones (very cool)

Also the cloths are very cool!!! on female and male cloths. I almost chosed this class because the cloths, but I give up because my build was not for support, and without INT/SPR and paladin 3, I dont know if this worth it.

Edited: Since you will be a support, you will be very usefull on pvp, and I like to mention that only a few classes can enter a dungeon alone and survive (most part are cleric types), and this class is one of that classes.

Thanks for all the answers great to hear it from someone who’s played paladin. I have been thinking that i might take Kabbalist C1 at Circle 7 instead of Priest C3.

Then i would get an extra attack beyond smite & conviction with merkabah i will lose out on stone skin but get revenge seven fold and ein sof basically another heal/sp regen.

I just worrie about having too many buffs or missing out on the ele resist/stone skin combo

I’m not sure what you intend your stats to be, but you mentioned STR and SPR in the build…

If you don’t take priest 3, you won’t take stone skin, which makes investing in SPR a waste. Barrier gives some magical def with SPR, but it’s simply not worth investing in SPR just for that.

I wrote my review regarding a STR paladin build I tried in the other topic. To make it short, I don’t think STR paladins are quite worth it at all… Blessing from priest will eventually fall off, you’ll eventually have to switch from cafrisun set to something better, and the only damaging skills you’ll have (in a STR build) will be smite and conviction. The combo Conviction + Smite is nice, but Conviction has too much delay to be used as a skill spammer like Smite. You’ll notice yourself having to wait on Conviction’s delay to use Smite for the additional damage (because Smite damage alone won’t cut it at higher levels). So basically you’ll be set with one small AoE, 2 overheat, 26 sec cooldown and low AoE Attack Ratio skill to deal most of your damage.

But of course, that’s just my opinion towards the build and you’re free to do whatever you want.

Yes that’s a great critique you see that’s exactly why i am considering Kabbalist it’s merkabah supposedly hits like a truck and would be a dps timer filler so i am not so dependent on Sacrament / Blessing for my damage.

Kabbalist C1 instead of Priest C3 would also avoid me having to go spirit in my build and i could put those points into Dex instead get around 60-100.

With Ein Sof i will never run out of mana not that its likely to be an issue with Pally C3 but i will have almost 50% more HP during half my solo time meaning i can focus my gear more on DPS as low health pools is usually clerics major downfall in the survivability department.

The extra Dex with arde dagger or shield plus the right gear i would think would allow my melee to still do enough damage possibly with mob level reduction to get through tough content. And enough to get by solo questing but i may be off.

First off, let me say that I believe STR on a cleric is a trap. It is riding on the coattails of the established paladin/monk (and is no where near) of other games.

Secondly, I’m not gonna tell you what build to follow. Rather I’m gonna give you information on the skills to help you choose.

PALADIN
Your “main” is the paladin so I will start there.
– [smite] –
Believe it or not, I will actually recommend ZERO (0) points in it. You can, but it should not be a priority. Why?

[smite] lets you 1shot trash mobs. They are already “trash” anyway so why spend points on a skill that really only helps with trash mobs. It is FIFTEEN (15) points for a single hit skill that only gains damage per skill lv (no additional hit, no special effects gained thru skill lv). [conviction] sort of alleviates this by turning [smite] into a multi hit skill but that means you are waiting for at least rank 6 to do this.

Another reason is that [smite] knocks back by default. If you did not 1shot what ever it is you hit, it just got tossed somewhere and you have to “chase” it. Not to mention it is “bad” to spread mobs apart in party play.

– [restoration aura] –
For now lv 1 is enough. Some people are playing around with this skill to get the specifics on who exactly it interacts with [heal] and [mass heal]. All we know for sure is [restoration aura] boosts the healing effect of both skills.

– [resist elements] –
It’s ok. The flat resist isn’t gonna do much when you’re taking damage in the thousands. What really helps is the chance to nullify the damage at 15% (at lv 15) + 4% from the attribute. Is it cost effective? I can’t say.

– [turn undead] –
It’s one of those “nice to have but can live without” skills. If you do decide you want it, you hit more targets with each skill level. For example at lv 15 you are hitting 18 targets. You have to ask yourself “how often are you taking on 18 devils or mutants?” before you invest the points.

– [conversion] –
This is 10 or nothing. Each lv increase how many converts can follow you at a time. The converts don’t follow you across maps. Converting monsters that are required for specific events (quests, dungeons) may cause you to fail in those tasks. For example “kill this monster to enter boss area” but you convert it and you can’t enter the boss area anymore (have to character select to “undo”)

– [barier] –
This is a 1 point wonder. At lv 1 you get 100% uptime. More lvs just means you can cover 2 areas for a few more secs. This is used more for the zoning than for the mdef.

– [conviction] –
This is 5 or nothing for the property resist effect. If you take [smite] it has a combo where the [conviction] debuff makes [smite] hit 3x. Not the best, but it’s something.

PRIEST
Change is coming to the priest. Look it up, I’m sure the thread containing the ktos updates is still in the front page. I can’t say much about it cuz it may or may not change, I don’t know.
