Commander Load Fail: Possible Solution

For some, switching channel fixes the issues. For others like me, it doesn’t.
I faced something similar back on FFXI’s launch day and tried it with TOS; to my surprised, it worked.

  • Try unplugging your internet cable or forcing your connection to crash in any way or form and leave it so for 15 seconds or longer.
  • Replug it.
  • Done.

The problem seems to come from the game leaving your character in a permanent “online” state, in a crashed or affected zone. Yes, even if you close the client and steam.
However, if you force the game to see you as “disconnected”, it’ll boot you and allow you to re-log.

sounds retarded but I’ll try this voodo thingy after my dota game. Should I unplug my cable in my lodge ?

That’s not the issue. It’s server trying to connect you to channel that’s offline/crashed. Being disconnected has nothing to do with it. If you are lucky enough to be on a map with multiple channels, of which some are working, you may connect without any problems. If all channels are crashed, you’re busted.

I just unplugged from my PC directly.
Yes, it is retarded but has worked twice for me. The channel switching is working now, too.
