Close the game and create a "ToS2"

Title.

Why? Because there’s no hope anymore. Srsly, there’s absolutely no chance that this game will ever be good.

PvP is a joke, the worst i’ve ever seen on any mmorpg.
MMO that’s not MMO.
PvE is a joke, full of bots.
FPS issues.
Lag issues.
Really bad mechanics, including unnecessary classes or classes that should be totally reworked for rebalance purposes.
Playerbase dropping every day.
Bugs list is insane.

The list goes on. IMC shouldn’t waste more time with ToS, just close and create a new one, from 0. Keep what’s good and work on everything else, because no one that already quit the game will ever play again, and while you keep the game open, you’re just losing a small playerbase.

I love this game, it has flaws, but i still love it.
I am tired of 70% of this forum being doomsayer, and hatefull critics
Dont get me wrong critics are healthy, it’s all a matter of how you say it

Never said I don’t like the game. I played this since kToS beta, but let’s be honest, there’s no need to keep the game open this way.
ToS is a fail, IMC need to understand what a “fail” means. You don’t need to give up, just find a way to make the game good.

I’m a marketing major, and on a publicity point of view, there’s absolutely no hope for this game anymore, as I said. If they don’t stop now, they will not have enough money to create a new ToS, and not to keep the game open too (or being very positive, just not to make new changes).

And i am a Video game director, and i can tell you that in the free to play industry, it’s not a matter of how many people are playing, but how many are paying.
And lets be honnest in a marketting point of view they did little to nothing to promote the game. So it’s dumb to say it’s beyound market saving, when nothing has been really done yet.

Not saying that you’re wrong, but, at what cost? I mean, you have 50 or 100 people paying while you lose the others, and keep losing because you’re just haughty enough to not close the game and make it good. Ok, you created a game, what now? It’s a fail, but if everything you want is money to keep those 100 players on, ok. Sooner or later they will leave too, we all do.

One word: Ragnarok.

What’s good about posting negative threads like these over and over? Really…

As long as a game give you money it’s not a fail, because it aint a world of teddy bear, for publisher the only thing that matters is money.
So my guess is tos gives enough money atm on a global scale for publisher to still add content. When it wont, well it’s gonna go down, but not untill that break point. Asian video game market is ruthless and capitalist.
So nope the game is not a fail, the fact that some player get tilted does not define if a video game is a fail or not, it’s the amount of money invested, and money received.

Ok ragnarok ? so what that just confirmed what i said they did nothing for advertising tos itself

I am not going to quote what i saw in the OP thread and follow up replies from him.

But a person who ask for a game to close and to create a second version of it, and to top it off he calls the game a failure where actually the failure is the developer not working in it as it should, so what is the point in have a ToS 2 if they will repeat the same failure?

This game have a good concept, it is just being bad used, not even half of what Kim have proposed (this propose was also mentioned in an interview last year) has been implemented, the game is not optimized, either performance wise and content wise.

From the start, this game wasn’t ready for OBT neither Release stages, last year after the 2nd CBT, me and a bunch of others agreed that there should had at least another 2 CBTs, Nexon KR decided to push an OBT and a bit later Release stages, in all honesty, if i was in IMC’s shoes i would no agree with it but who knows what their contract dictates.

I don’t know what IMC had running in their minds for doing the same ■■■■ in iToS, but the ■■■■ hit the fan at the very beginning.

Now we are at this state, i want this game to be a success, but if they will work this half assed way, not communicating with us, and i say talk to us, even wih their bad english or google translated blocks of text, we at least would talk, not to count that every patch they release there are some “surprises” in it, some good, many bad.

It is easy to blame the game, but the real problem is with who is behind it.

Want our money? Fine you will have it, but only if you bring your product working as it should and at least, with some security.

Well i will refrain from reply this thread again, i know where this one will end up sooner or later.

I love the game, but who is managing and developing it is going a complete wrong path and it is losing their credibility, no only for this game, but for future projects.

The game dies when dev and players no longer support it. Not because of some players decide it

Not only is this a bad idea, but even if they did go through with it,any association with the former title would just have you trolls and cynical haters of the game toppling over one another to post bad reviews and threads.

Besides, giving up on this and moving onto something else [even if it is similar] will speak volumes about the dev team and how they’ll likely treat any other games they come out with or work on.This would basically squash any attempt at a revival or rebirth before it can really take off.

So it’s very important that they continue to put the time and energy into slowly improving the game. This is the kind of thing players will remember when other potential players ask about the game.

Do you want me to print steam page? You probably don’t know what a fail means too.

Final Fantasy.

Agree.

Agree.

I don’t think so. It’s not something that they can just solve, if they could, i’m sure that would.

This is one of the reasons i’m saying, they will not have money for much time.

The main i reason i say “close the game”, is because ToS need to fix all known issues, and IMC will never -NEVER- do it with the game open. Besides that, a new ToS will attract people who already left and new players.

I see you’re just as polite as you were before.

No,I’m not.And if you’ve been playing since Korean beta as you claim, you’d know that.Or you simply just don’t want to admit it,like the rest of the doomsayers here.

I never said the improvements were huge, but they are there. If this is all you can take out of my posts, then you have no counter-argument;as I expected.

Tell me two, please.

1.) Added quests 200+ making leveling much easier.
2.) Community and content events such as fan art, the current crystal event, and the other previous to that (forget the title.) This game for an MMO has lacked socialization and people complained for quite a while that no events were taking place. I do think there is room for improvement on this front.

I’m sure they’ve done other things but I was gone for about 2 months. Nor do I wish to argue.

If anything, the game being transferred to another company who will market it and have a better connection with their western audience might be a good idea. I’m not for the game entirely shutting down, because of what has been stated by others, and, I just like it.

I never said anything about grind, it’s a feature of the game and not even hard. But, if you really want to talk about grind, just go take a look at steam comments page, even if you want to talk about new players.
Srsly, you think that “add quests 200+ making leveling much easier” is a improvement compared to anything else? lol

Oh my god…

Starting contradicting myself here, just these 2 points anyway.

What Final Fantasy? I don’t know any of their titles thare are a failure unless some ports, do find FFXI dull (it is my opinion tho), but it is a success either way.

Don’t compare games from big companies like Square/Enix with Korean companies.

What they can’t solve? Its their project, they thought about it from the ground up, if they can’t solve what they created what you can call that? Lack of knowledge.

This is where you are wrong, and i will explain why, we already gave tons of bug reports, exploit reports, hack reports, bot reports, now it is up to then do something with all that info, but as you can see, they don’t do a thing, they saw that going from the base to put up a different version for us was a bad move, in fact, there wasn’t any reason to do so from the start, just put both regions with the same client, the only difference is the language packs, we don’t give a ■■■■ if the code calls are in korean, we don’t see them anyway while playing.

Why yes, I do. These are things that upon launch were most wanted by the community. Just because you do not consider the wants of others to be important, does not mean they weren’t wanted. Shrugs.

Are there other important issues? Yes. Is IMC working on it? I hope so.

  1. They wanted to make the game entirely self-earned. As in, making the MMO player work for their drops and having things be untradeable entirely, so they ended up getting rid of player shops. You could see how fast this blew up, and fairly quicker that IMC seemed to understood this struggle. It was at this point they simply let Tokens enable trades and make the Marketplace to replace the void that Player Shops had left.

  2. The near instant moment that the lagfest we know as GvG was made, people hard whined that they were constantly getting bullied by able guilds who were just awake. So IMC sprung in and threw in a Neutrality system. It worked fairly well for what it wanted to do, it’s just there was no real purpose to GvG aside the ganking at this point and this drove alot of PvPer types away because now GvG became quieter and inactive.

No, I don’t like this game as avidly nor do I pretend that the culture barrier isn’t a reason this game’s population has gone down to crumbs and it has incredible amounts of flaws. But the fact I can play this game, and not get bored plus have the actual want to see it improve is far more engaging than playing a flavor of the month game and having a meh experience.

It’s one thing if they can make a toaster game from bad to good. And tbh, that is the road IMC is going, just not at a speed desired and I honestly do believe this game needed a CBT dedicated purely to stress testing and general FPS surveying.

It’s another if they don’t learn this lesson and make another game to repeat the same steps. This by far destroys much more credibility. Imagine if FFXIV’s remake backfired and SE had to face legions of angry gamers who gave them promises and then completely destroyed it.

One big patch to keep us more up to date with kToS,and keeping us updated on what to expect with the next bigger patch at rank 8.

Cross server queing for faster dungeons and missions.

The ban lists have been daily and consistent at this point, and are easily viewable here on the forum.

I have heard from a number of users that ticket response time is improving.

They just made an announcement about their progress on improving FPS issues.

And not too long ago they took a poll of sorts to make improvements to TBL times for the European servers.

Not that you have a good response for any of these, but they are improvements. It may all be slower than we like, but it’s there and better than absolutely nothing at all.

lol you’re so naive, they make bank off this game. People spending 300+ TP every time they drop a new pet/mount, 1 player has 5+ TP constumes and will purchase the new one the moment servers come back up from maintenance. You really have no idea what a business is do you?
