thereās some process thats interfering with tos, find it stop it or remove it, it will work
make a new user account run tos, if it runs, alt tab open task manager take a screenshot of all running processes at that moment,
go back to the old use account, run tos, it crashes, open task manager compare with the screen shot u took from before and remove the extra processes, do make sure to test running tos after removal of every process to nail down the culprit
Verify the integrity of cache in steam, if that doesnt work, uninstall, redownload, reinstall

Ahhhh! I also have the Client_Exe error as well!!!
When I press start, the game starts up as a white screen and maybe even progresses into a black screen⦠and it looks like itāll start okay, but soon after about 10 seconds, the āClient.tos.exe has stopped workingā notification window pops up and forces me to close the game before the server selection screen even appears! Iāve been trying to deal with this for the past few days using the following methods in this order:
- Verification in steam
- New user
- Deleting everything in the patch folder and repatching
- Replacing the msvcp100.dll file (both of them) with a new copy
- Deleting the tos.exe and client.exe before repatching
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the game
- Disabling firewall and antivirus
- Updated my flash player and used the direct x installer inside the game folder
- Tried to turn off user processes that might be interfering with the game client initialization (could not find FM or Hydra at all, I run Windows Vista)
- Installing flash player through internet explorer
- Doing the visual C++ thing
- Updating my driver (Itās a mobile intel 965 family chipset, ancient I know.)
I cannot obtain an error log about this either⦠
I tried installing and playing the game on another newer computer, but the same problem pops up too, and I did the same list of things for that computer too.
Does anyone have an idea what I should do?!?!?! Iām at my witās end here!!!
You really need to read all the above posts
read system requirement before posting error, if your hardware donāt get enough to run the game, donāt force it and report something like this to admin. there is no way to fix these thing unless they should ask Korean developer to rebuild the game back to be used by low hardware
I wouldnāt be posting here if I hadnāt read all the above posts beforehand for the past 5 days and found a solution that worked for me. Iāve also attempted to utilize solutions from this topic that I did not list in my previous post as well. I apologize for saying this, but please donāt wave me off with a lazy answer that doesnāt attempt to help at all. I also apologize for sounding desperate and annoying, but I really am trying to find a working solution here. And yes, it could be just a problem on their side that Iād have to wait for them to fix, but Iām hoping it is not so and am still trying to possibly resolve this problem.
Also, I of course read the system requirements before posting the error as well. Iāve confirmed with others that are currently playing the game that both my computers (the older one and the newer one) should be able to at least play the game on minimum required settings.
So before any incoming flames, does anyone have any other helpful ideas on what I should do?
I fixed mine by deleting the .xml files

Have you tried running it on a new user, or a fresh windows install with the bare minimum drivers, graphics, sound etc (just the bare minimum in them as well, like HydraDm comes bundled with ATI graphic Drivers)
Do not look for just HydraDm, you wont find it if you donāt have a ATI Drivers, it could be anything.
Also if its just a few people with this problem, donāt get your hopes up on them fixing it anytime soon, i donāt see it being on top of their list of priorities, after all the game is running on hundreds of other PCās, the problem could most likely be on your end as it was on ours.

got this same error today 11/4/2015, this definitely works. if you cant kill the process just try restarting your PC. tho what I did to fix the error was verify the game cache on steam
ironic that every time they give out a patch to address the last error/bug, a new one appears!
i think the problem lies on the āluncher downloader/patcherā as it looks like its having a hard time downloading/ organizing files.

click TOSās play button on steam then wait for the "Client_tos.exe has stopped working " errorthen dont click the āclose programā option just close the window then click play again on steam if the error comes up again play it then dont wait for the error message to pop up what you gonna do is right click on task bar >go to start task manager find tos.exe>right click on it>click end process tree then play it again if thereās no error message pops up just wait for it and it will go to server selection.
just redo play>end process until no error message .
as for me i only do it twice and it will go through. HOPE IT HELPS
