Client remove latest patch when using certain ISP

@Biskee Ty for help us. The dns thing doesnt work for me too :sob:
I want my penguin.

Try the other solutions. Sorry this is as much as I can help you with. I haven’t had the same specific issue as you and OP.

Its something really rare, but i have no doubts that its my isp, because i can install the patch using me cellphone internet. But then, the patch is remove again if i use my regular isp.

I recorded a video by running the game with VPN vs running it with my ISP (VTR Banda Ancha). Please note that I am from Chile and I play in Silute [SA]. Therefore, the problem seems to be not only related to a specific ISP.

Without further ado, the video is presented below.

No problem :+1:, thanks for giving the suggestion.

I had try out the other method, not sure why, but even the VPN method fail to help me. I guess now I can only temporary switch to other ISP if I want to play the game.

Yup, this is similar to what I have, but most of the time, mine will same ipf file damaged, however unlike your case, I’m unable to use VPN to solve the problem, I’ll try out some other VPN and see will it work.

Guys, you can do the following:

Load Steam with the VPN that works for you, verify cache and make sure to copy the following files into a different directory:

128009_001001.ipf
128113_001001.ipf
128143_001001.ipf
128144_001001.ipf

These files can be found in the patch folder within TreeOfSavior folder

Once you do that, make sure that ToS updater downloads every file through the VPN. Log into the game, then close it.

After that, you can close the VPN program and load the game again. Right after the updater finishes downloading files, paste the 4 previously copied files into the patch folder. That way, the game will be forced to read them, since those files are related to the update itself.

The problem seems to be that IMC Updater does not recognize these files as part of the game. Consequently, every time you start the client without using VPN, the game detects these ‘unregistered files’ and deletes them. I actually don’t know why this happen only on certain cases (which are many but unfortunately, not the majority of players experience this issue so IMC will not treat it like a critical error).

try using HotspotShield, it worked flawlessly

oh god it was maxis. Im using maxis too. No wonder the latest patch keeps getting deleted. Damn this Maxshet :rage:

I’m using maxshet i mean Maxis Broadband too, can u add me on steam?

@eltira2k4 Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately HotspotShield doesn’t work for me (100% my problem, I think), I had my friend help me set up with openVPN and so far it seems there is no problem with it.

But unlike your case, I must turn the VPN on, when I try to force the client to read the file, it cause my to say “ipf file damaged”, but this is most likely cause by other issue, since after the patch, 70% of the time I try to run with my default ISP, it will result in that message pop up as well.

BTW, just a side note, instead of 4 ipf file, I have an extra file call 128145_001001.ipf.

Lets just hope that IMC will fix this problem soon, I don’t want to go through all these troubles again every time we have a new patch

@dark_shim Sorry, my steam doesn’t have permission to add friends, since its a new account.

@Biskee It turns out to be my problem of not knowing how to properly set up the VPN, I had my friend to help me set up 1, and it’s able to run the game, but only with the VPN turn on.

oh nooo…im also use maxis, no wonder have same problem

Try turning off VPN once you’ve connected to the game. It could work. I did that one time when the patcher just didn’t work. Use VPN to patch. Turn off or uninstall VPN once you’re playing or have successfully patched.

Hi, thanks for the tips, I’ll ask my friend how to do that later, the VPN he help me set up is openVPN, and I have no idea how to control it lol :expressionless:

Oh dude, vtr and chile here. Did you fix the problem. Please tell me

Same problem here.
VTR Chile, server Klaipeda.

It seems is a general problem for the vtr users. Do u think contact the isp could help?

Have you try the VPN method suggest by the above?
I’m able to make it work by using a VPN connection

With pingzapper i can’t. What vpn are u using? ty

I’m using openVPN, but its kinda complicated to set it up, I had my friend to help me set up that software, you can try out HotspotShield that suggested by the above.
