Clerics and ranged class issue

I Have no experience in other class so therefore only can talk about cleric on this.

I found no way for cleric related class to cast their spell in range and some aiming issue.

  1. Do we have to always go so close into range to cast our spell on boss fight? or any other fight. Or are there a way to cast my heal, cure, zaibas, safety wall at range and on someone’s ground rather running around to cast it?

  2. Spells doesn’t aim correctly? I used Divine Stigma as a Krivis but the problem is that sometimes it goes no where and gone missing hitting random mob and not the one I’m currently targeting (especially when mobbing in dungeon we aim to cast on the low hp mob not randomly.

Edit:

  1. I want to add that, the problem becomes worst when moving into a centurion formation. We know that where the members inside a formation face where the centurion face. This makes casting spell worst. So if a centurion face slightly off to the side of the boss or our targets, Most of cleric spells especially area spell will cast diagonally “” instead of straight front “–”. Imagine zaibas, heal, mass heal etc casting on air in certain formation. This is outright stupid if we cant target our spell.

Please enlighten me.

Yeah, stigma’s aiming is awful. I recalled aiming for a tree orb, then it landed on either the ground or worse, a fireball spell.

We really need to plan ahead when casting this spell. Make sure that idiot who’s gonna get the debuff is alone for a good hitting chance

i do not fully Understand what you ask for #1. What you mean about At Range, and you have to Run to Cast? Unless you mean you want the spell to go on top of you or something and not have to run over the spell to activate it, then yeah can’t really happen, Most of the Cleric Spells are Directional Based, Where ever you face, that is where the spell will come out.

For 2 I have not touched the Krivis class, So I can’t say for sure what you talking about.

Our spells at cast right in front of where the character face and we cannot adjust the range. Say to cast Cure, safety wall at the back or feet of our target members we need to move into a very close range literally melee range. This will cause damage aim at our tanks or anyone we trying to save hit cleric as well. Especially aoes and even bigger mobs melee attacks which have arcs.

Too bad, I uses stigma usually on in party and not worth for solo due to the inefficient MP cost for solo and duration (as we get the buff only after the monster is killed which means our spell goes into the long cd for 20-30s as well wasting the buff duration). In party which usually in dungeon/area packed with mob where the boost is needed most compare to random scattered mob area and that is when the skill fail.

The game is more on Positioning and Knowledge, Afterall, Heal is not just for healing but is your weapon, and can sause little to no healing to your tank and only damage. Also Clerics are a Melee based Character, unlike Wizards or Archers. If you going to help fight a Boss, you going to be Melee Range.

I guess it cause, the classic healer is the guy who sits they want to keep it that way. Though I like this way cause it is more about planning, positioning and knowing to set up a spell and it’s spot in the fight.

Pretty much hard in a party too, especially if you got 2 pyros spamming whatever they’re using. Thanks to that, I can’t see who and chances are, if I cast stigma that bloke might already dying. Take note that casting stigma has around 2 seconds before it hits the target. Then the target can even resist the spell. Annoying as hell

Casting it on a random mob is also hard, If your party can kill them in seconds, that’s good but fail that and no buffs for your team.

Heal as a weapon is just a means for clerics to be able to do some damage when solo. In party for dungeons, it is a heal and you don’t want it to be used as a weapon as mobs easily eat up all the tiles and left little to none for your team and with the CD it is best used as support than damage.

Even though everything has a work around method but forcing cleric to be close range is not “good” or i do not have that word to express it. There is quite much flexibility gone e.g. putting heals outside of mob gang requires your ally to run out of it before they are in danger health as they still need to tank(talking about melee dps as well) some damage before reach cleric heals or cleric getting into close range and getting hit by those aoes while trying to heal teamate and also later themselves when they got hit. Healing in range is really a big advantage.

And that is the reason why I trained my cleric to be able heal in the frontline, then do some damage and get out. Heck, I can even the bloke who’d play bait just to lure the beast to the dps and sometimes, get my life in the red zone and focus on healing who’s dying.

Seeing that you might be a cleric-krivis, take note that we have subpar healing capabilities.

Seems like most cleric spells are pretty close ranged, i mean the cleric class places the seals and heals infront of themselves, does not have the option of placing them at a distance.

As far as I know, the only skill that is quite capable of healing at a certain range would the priest skill, mass heal.

As for aiming issue: use mouse mode - spells always be placed in the direction of mouse pointer. Not sure if that will work for formations tho.
