Cleric C3's Guardian Saint

Hi Saviors,

I was just wondering if anyone can explain to me the exact nature of this skill “Guardian Saint”,

I have seen how the skill works in the fanbase (the video and the description as well)

Guardian Saint on ToS Fanbase
notice on the details column : On Enemy > Yes, On Allies > No,
but when I see the video, the skill is used as a tile then, when an ally steps into the tile the buff activates.

also if you use the skill simulator, whenever you level up, you gain “charges” on the skill.

what does this “charges” means?

It will be more than helpful if you can describe this skill’s interaction with enemies, and describe how would you like to utilize this skill or even consider to take it (as many of you know going cleric C3 is currently underrated and the C3 might need to be reworked?)

Personally, I would take this skill to get the 25% dmg reduction on the caster, but I am really interested on how the mechanics of this skill works,

I have been trying to look in google and the forum about this skill, however currently they are lacking of info.

ty for reading and your time,

cheers,

Frad

Some old info on the topic, may be outdated ofc:

Charges should be the amount of times it will try to redirect the damage. So 15 charges = the next 15 hits you take. But it uses a charge when it fails as well apparently.

But almost no one takes the skill now a days, and cleric3’s are already hard to find.

I only tried guardian saint in cbt2, but It’s probably the same skill.
About DM I don’t know… is up to you, but guardian saint is a waste of skill points

Interested on the mechanics as well.

All these people said it sucks, but no one explained what it does …

You place a square on the floor.
When someone in your party steps on it:

  • They will take the next X amount of hits instead of you with a 50% chance

Where X = Guardian Saint skill level * 3 (Number of charges)

EDIT: I’m not sure if it works on every ally (such as bokor zombies, pets, etc) or just players.

Well they are right, the skill does suck. You cast it, the person who runs over the tile (hopefully the tank). That person now 50% chance will take damage that you would take. If a low con player runs over it good chance of getting wtf owned if you have aggro’d. Reason why its not a very good skill. And cleric 3 isnt bad either, just overkill on healing.

Will the redirected dmg be only from you or the whole party ?

It’s a ground tile that grants its effects to one person, it only redirects damage that you take towards the person affected.

Although people generally point out the negative flaws,The attribute gives up to 25% reduction in damage taken, so it is good for that; provided you are a safe cleric and don’t consume the charges before the duration ends.

Taking this higher than level 1, i would not recommend unless you’re trying to get someone in your team intentionally killed.

The skill just conflicts to the Cleric class’s playstyle to the core. Clerics provides safety and healing to the whole party, while this skill just do the exact opposite; you just basically throw the burden of taking damage that would be on you to someone else in the party, even be it a tanky one, it still doesn’t do good.

If only the skill worked the opposite way around…
YOU take hits instead of the target

That would make more tanky cleric builds more interesting.
But the cooldown would also need to be reduced.

That’s what I thought it’s how the skill work when I first read the description, then I read it again and even thought it’s a typo. The skill’s concept doesn’t make any sense and bring nothing to the table both pvp and pve wise.

If only it would do the opposite, there’ll be worth maxing it along with going full CON Kabbalist/Paladin to make a somewhat tanking clerics.

But it could also work the other way round because in many games, especially in a PvP setting, people always target the healers first and it’s very dangerous for them.

I’m not saying that the skill isn’t sh1t though, it clearly is. Just that perhaps some niche could work out for it

That could make some sense, but then again, as a support class, to think the game making one would grab the C3 just for the sake of 1 pvp skill is just disappointment, though people going clerics C3 for other thing else.

Would it possible if a mob or enemy steps on the tile and take the damage instead?

This is actually a secret bot-killing skill

no, the skill doesnt work on mobs, only on friendly char, and not on pets as well.

thanks for the confirmation

Can anyone confirm if this works with bokor’s zombies?

it does not bokor 3 cleric 3 here they pass over the tile with no interaction i got it lvl one for the attribute though i ts still 60 seconds of damage reduction if you make sure you don’t get hit to an allied player
