Cleric c2/deiv c2 vs cleric c1/priest c3 : cons vs pros

two way of going monk
can someone tell me the pros and cons from each one?

Priest have skill that make your auto attack stronger so leveling solo is better
Cleric C2 give 10 heal square, which is recommended for higher level dungeon

I disagree, I think Mass Heal 10 + Heal 5 is better for later dungeons than Heal 10. Mass Heal 10 is percentage based which is perfect for Monks which don’t rely on spirit/intellect.

If you actually use Mass Heal correctly I actually think it’s overall just a better still than Heal. At least on a Monk who isn’t running any spirit/intellect.

Yes it’s enough, every Cleric that only get C1 told me that, but they also tell me that their party members often ask for 10 square
As for the build path though, I also think that Priest path is better buff wise.
Steparu goes for Diev path but I don’t see much use in that class

Cooldown reduction. Carve. Silence. Ausrine. Statues can take aggro and can take a beating. AOE slow.

I think it’s as simple as this…

Priest = better support all around

Diev = better DPS all around

That being said nether has much better support/dps than the other. They’re fairly balanced in overall utility. I prefer a priest base as I think Monks should have a strong support focus.

Others might prefer to have more of a DPS focus. But personally I disagree with that route. I think utility is extremely important to a Monk it’s what makes the class possibly the best all-rounder.

They have cool down reduction too ? O.O
Nice :3
But the problem still persist though, the statues AOE is not great, you won’t stay for long in one place either, probaly 5~10 seconds at most, even for farming.
It’s also seem unreliable in dungeon, cuz no one other than you know that they need to stand near the statue, the boss will simply push it away and run to god know where

Diev: more DPS, damage scales much better after 200+, can solo PVE and world bosses without much problem. Downside is you don’t have stone skin and deploy Capella, which is the broken priest build in KR atm. Pvp would be better at objective based PVP since even an idiot can avoid the statues or carve.

Priest: more party buffs and utility and high auto ATO damage pre 200. After 200, 5k autos won’t scale much. Good in any type of PVP as long as you can stay alive, everyone loves you for dungeon and PVP. Might not be as desirable as Diev for earth tower though since they don’t offer much damage at 280. If you’re going TRUE full support, this is it.

@logicgaming2 Deploy Capella is that popular in KR? o.o Ahh I wish we can learn every skill~

Will Diev2 (as opposed to Diev3) be able to out-dps the rest though for world bosses?
Kinda interesting the choices you have to make as a Monk2/Diev2 on your attacks while Priest3/Monk2 can’t do much @_@

@MadValentine just out of personal experience, there’s lv100 Cleric3s who can’t do crap with healing - one’s skill as a cleric matters more than the class build. You don’t know how many times I got pissed off relying on Cleric2/Cleric3 for healing while I focus on buffing and they never cast heals for the party except for themselves orz

I’m currently a Priest3 but starting on a second char on Diev. There’s a lot of stuff I miss from Priest, especially that my Diev is an INT build so the playstyle’s more different than I expected. Really hard for Diev1 and Priest2 to be interchangeable - each one just supports in a different way.

All about the playstyle @.@ Doesn’t matter if you have the top build but you suck playing it because it’s not intuitive

It’d be nice if ToS gives us a ‘training ground’ where we can choose any build to try it out…

Just be aware that if you’re a Priest3/Monk, your life will be full of buffing and whacking and double punches, while Cleric2/Diev2/Monk will be carving, healing, and double punches.

Personally I prefer C2->Diev2 route vs C1->Priest3. Diev is a plant statue and forget class, which is really good in support where the healer will need to actively reposition himself/herself to be able to reach the other players.

However being a dievdirby does has its disadvantages as compared to priest

  1. Statues are stationary and not mobile.
  2. In PUGs (pick up groups/matchmake groups) other players might not gather near the statues and hence not receiving any of the buffs.
  3. Bosses tend to slap/clap/stomp away the statues, rendering them useless.

As compatred to priest

  1. Buffs are very ‘mobile friendly’.
  2. Stoneskin is really good
  3. 2 different heals on cooldown (Mass heal and cleric’s heal)
  4. Ress skill

Dievdirby does offer more dps skills and a couple of crowd control skills though. Owl has really good dps, but is often hindered by boss’s claps/slams.

As for farming, I hardly even use the statues at all besides times when the room/area has so many monsters that make it worth casting the owl (usually when it has 6+ mobs packed together)

Unreliable? Usually I walk with the tank while the tank lures mobs, I stop to put a statue and suddenly the tank comes to my statue, swashbucking and suddenly he brought the fight to my statues.

I think he meant bosses who like to push stuff away. Using the statues against normal adds is good, but vs some bosses they become very lackluster.

A great example is the Siauliai mission bosses, extremely irritating.

Buff statues like zemyna or laima can be pushed around that the aoe doesn’t move with them, but I agree that the owl isn’t suited for bossing.

It’s popular solely because it can keep stone skin up 100%. Once they nerf stone skin this build will fall off in PVP pretty quick.

[/quote]Ha really?! So this is more of a vs boss statue eh… But some bosses like to jump around orz

Really. I’m quite a stingy player when it comes to logs lol…haha. Furthermore they eat 2 logs at a time!

Frankly speaking, it is the cooldown of the owl statue that makes me reluctant to cast it much. At diev2, lvl5 owl absolutely decimates anything that goes in its range. I do cast it when I have an area to farm exclusively for myself though. Really hope they can reduce the cooldown by 15secs. 1 min 45 secs is a tad too long imo.

Owl statue is a hit and a miss vs bosses. They get smacked around like toys.

I personally prefer priest for the healer/support role.

Revive can be neat in a pinch, and the extra hits they get the party with the buffs is pretty nice as well. AOE heal, stoneskin, yup I like it very much
