Cleric 2 > Priest 2 > Monk 1 > ? > ? > Inquisitor

I’m at a point where I need to make a choice on what I want next. The only thing I do know is that I want Inquisitor at Rank 8.

I was originally following a build that went to Monk 3 for beam and maxing double punch.

My first question is - Is Monk 3 worth it?

The more i’ve played the more I’ve started reading how Monk 3, and even Monk 2 for that matter, isn’t something people do a whole lot anymore.

The other thing i’ve come to realize is no matter how many skill points I have into, say, Double Punch, I’ll never be the primary DPS role. Maybe as Inquisitor i’ll be more viable.

I really want to know what anyone else’s experience is with Monk and if you felt it was worth going to a further circle of Monk. If not, what’s a good class to follow up for R6 and R7?

Monk2 is plenty. Double Punch does not gain much damage per rank point, and the 2nd circle gives you 1 inch punch and energy blast for some AoE.

There are too many good options in rank7 to afford Monk3, PD for example with healing factor is a great self buff to keep you alive in the fray, that would be my rank7 recommendation.

IMO pretty much anything would be better than monk3…besides sadhu1 and paladin1.

I hear some good things about 1inch punch. Is it worth it?

Hmm. Interesting. I never considered PD to be an option. Looks like a viable choice. Thanks for the input, I’ll look into it.

You may want to check out the guide I wrote a while ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/treeofsavior/comments/546nzz/a_guide_for_monks/

It was written before R8 hit so some of the info is a bit outdated but the build is performing better than I expected.

tl:dr Don’t follow the PD hype train.

Wow thanks a ton. That’s a pretty amazing guide. A lot of good information. My only question is how much does it change with the Toy Hammer nerf? Would you still not recommend Monk 2?

TH nerf only affects Monk (aka pre-R8). Inquis will be your main source of damage and it doesn’t rely on TH.

Basically TH nerf just made questing life harder at lvls 200+ but since grinding exp was buffed you’re better off doing that anyway.

I have a monk c2 now, and i have a question, PD it’'s not worth on pve? so i ill be better to take Monk c3 right? my focus is Inquisitor (Full DEX/CON) and yee

Healing factor is such a retarded spell that It’s always suggested xD

Point is monk 3 gives you sooo little (sadly) since rank 8 classes are heavily game changing that the extra dps is not worth it anymore

IF I had to roll a monk, given the cleric 3 buff I would probably go:

Cleric 3 Priest 1 Monk 2 PD 1 Inqui to play something nice and freshy!

or

c2 diev 3 monk 2 inqui, couz totems are never wrong :stuck_out_tongue:

Just my 2 cents ofc

My understanding of running in missions/dungeons is that i’m never really going to be main DPS as i’d like a monk to be. That being the case, should I just go for some utility like a Oracle into Kabba after and THEN worry about dps as an Inquisitor? And if I go that route, how good are Monk 1 skills for solo play for questing at later levels?

Yes, Monk won’t ever be good at DPS. Inquisitor on the other hand can dish out lots of pain, achieving Rank 1 or 2 on many occasions.

Oracle > Kabba is the recommended build path in my guide and what I’ve been having great success with. Monk1 is mainly for DP, a 0 CD DPS skill. While it’s quite weak compared to Inquis skills it’s still VERY useful for clearing general trash mobs and brings consistent DPS on tougher monsters. My DP hits for roughly 9-15k on average depending on the mob type. This can be raised substantially with party buffs/debuffs

I wouldn’t replace Monk1 with anything else. DP is still extremely useful and is a core part of the build. Btw I’m always Rank 1 DPS for Demon Lord Blut world boss

I have to say, this way is sounding very tempting. I mean on top of being good DPS with Inqui, I like being good utility in parties. Also sounds like a viable plan for PvP as well. Thanks for all the information!
