Can anything be done for a class reset? I started playing again about 2 days after the christmas free class reset. I previously had stopped playing back in May. I’d really like it if there was a 1 time buy on the steam shop or something. I really dont want Diev 2 anymore after so many changes to the game.
It was given out as a 14day temporary item. One per account. As far as im aware that was the only time/way to obtain them and tough luck to everyone else.
IMC is so ridiculous, why make it temporary and release at a random date when 90% players left the game. Of course I missed that chance.
Yeah, it would help bring players back in the game if they made it available, I think.
Eventually they will make it available, for 2000 medals in the exchange shop.
IMC logic. They really love slapping that 14-day timer on everything they give away to players.
I think implementing a way to get the reset voucher with TP (Even 300) would mean a lot of people returning and a lot of people staying.
One of the big reasons people leave (Aside from bugs maybe) is because they spend a ton of time on a character, and then that char gets nerfed or they simply didnt like the way the end ranks played. (I had this with monk in the start. Finally got to Monk and really didnt like playing it) So they have no choice but to reroll it, spending a ton of time on another char, doing the same quests and same grinds again.
I know this isnt a problem for most serious/hardcore players but for the overall playerbase, this forms a huge reason to quit. The amount of time that has to be spend on a char without actually knowing for sure how the endgame plays is a risk.
In other games, you choose a class, and thats it. You get a feeling on how it plays. In ToS you go trough 7/8 RANKS of classes just to get to the “Final” class. You change into it, and… hey… This isnt as fun as i thought… Now what? I just spend 100-200 hours on this!
It’s a double-edged sword.
It could work ONLY if they would properly fix the other core issues first (balance, optimization, scaling, etc.). Still, there’s still a possibility of whales abusing this resulting into the game being more P2W.
Side note: Considering stat reset cost around 900 TP IIRC, rank reset would probably cost even more than that or at least the same.
If they force to implement that with the game’s current state, it will only result into the game becoming even more pay-to-win - whales will be able to quickly switch to whatever is the current meta-OP build while the rest which is the majority are left to rerolling alts or considering leaving the game.
IMC already tried giving away a free rank reset before. The around 369 players they gained during that period was nothing but temporary, with almost triple that value they already lost to date.
This means that there’s something more critical than just helping players fix bad decisions. IMC should fix their own bad decisions first.
I’d swear that when they gave everyone one, they’d said they would eventually be putting rank reset vouchers up for sale.
I actually had this problem when I started playing Tree of Savior. I just made a character casual. I didn’t know so much about the classes so I just took something. Now when I know more about the game when the character is level 180+. I had to reroll to make it match the other classes. I didn’t just do it once but 3-5 times perhaps. It’s a pain to repeat the storyline over and over agian…
So now when I deleted the unnecessary characters IMC can’t restore them since they don’t have backups on character data… (Or perhaps just rejecting my request)
I have had much other issues with IMC and new ingame changes I was totally against. They’re just making problems for me. No wonder players leave the game.
It really seems like IMC doesn’t care too much. I’ve posted bugs on the forums and sent private messages to IMC staff… still no answers.
Personally, I can wait on better worded skill text and the fixing of various other bugs if I at least had a way to reset my rank. The development of one’s character is everything. If I end up making a bad decision do to lack of information or poorly worded skill text that’s fine, just give me the option of having to fork over my hard earned cash so I can give myself a pleasant gaming experience… The class choices will still be difficult to make, who wants to fork over real money just to fix a mistake?
The game seems to have a play it and figure it out kind of attitude but it penalizes you at the same time. There’s only so much somebody can research and nobody’s perfect, you’re bound to make a mistake. I’ve restarted my 100+ character once and I don’t plan on doing it again. I’m a completionist, when I play my characters I like to do all the available quests I can and fully explore the maps. I am not going to go through it all again for the same character if I end up not liking the end result.
Also, how am I supposed to bring my friends into the game and expect them to enjoy themselves when things are the way they are? Everything I’ve learned about the game, all the restrictions etc., I have to tell my friends about. How does IMC expect to attract and keep players when they operate like this? Maybe they are just milking this game for all they can, in it’s current state and will eventually just walk away from it… That’s kind of how it feels playing the game. Makes putting money toward the game very unjustifiable.
