I’m at 5 now, and do not feel like they’ve been a waste. Aside from maxing aspersion, what else would we be putting those points into?
Well depending on your priest circle you have plenty of skills to invest in, atleast I know I had tons of trouble deciding what to lvl haha, and that was with lvl 3 blessing, so there is plenty of skills to consider.
I’m in dire need of TP for a skill reset potion. I maxed out blessing to level, which is amazing, but now its tapering off and need points elsewhere.
Don’t fret. Think of it as 170 damage x 180 hit = 30.600 DOT every 45 sec. Ideal for dungeoning with multihit-capable people.
You just need to look at the bright side of life. :v
I just reached rank 4 relatively easy following your build and I quite like it but I have some doubts about the skill distributions.
-
Are 5 points in Aspersion enough? It seems like a max it or leave it skill.
-
Why did you decide to put 1 point in Monstrance and Exorcise? Just to have more options? They’re kinda bad in my opinion, I was thinking of taking Resurrection to 2 and get the attribute to increase the duration of revive.
-
Are you ok leaving Blessing at 10? I was thinking of leave it at 3 or maxing it.
-
Do you still recommend 6 points in Revive and Mass Heal?
Why do you put points in INT, what scales from it? wouldnt STR be better for AA dmg and toy hammer explosion?
Aspergillum, which is your highest damaging Chaplain ability, scales with both Magic Attack and SPR.
INT boosts your magic attack, and thus scales with Aspergillum.
All very important questions. Looking forward to someone tackling this fellow’s post.
Also, I want to add a 5)… what is the point of getting blessing at all to leave it so low? Isn’t it one of our best support skills?
It’s Kazu from DN yay, anyway great guide very helpful to those who are new to the chaplain class, expecting great things from you bro more power
I just hit rank 4 myself. Blessing is at 5 for 80 attack count which seems enough for the full duration? +50 attribute maxed and it seems fine for now. Wont get any better, just worse since nothing seems to buff it?
I’ve got Aspersion at 9 right now, level 109 and its doing me well. I slacked off on revive abit, level 5, to push dps. Aspersion keeps going up with me pumping spirit while blessing is there at +130 forever.
The bulk of blessing’s damage is from the attribute which is +100 damage. The difference between lvl 3 and max is +123 vs +170.
For sure max has more damage and if you want to think about it in terms of how many people are getting boosted damage it’s good. Is it worth losing some utility? That’s where it comes down to preference. Some people like max bless, some people don’t. There’s no real wrong or right aside from hard facts such as higher level does mean more damage.
1 and 3 are connected. As Priest you have a certain number of flex points, to distribute between good, but non-critical skills.
Each point of aspersion gives you 21 damage per hit, that is applied before all modifiers, and 2% pdef.
Each point in blessing gives you 4 points per each line of damage (so x5 or x4 depending if you use cafrisun), and also 4 points of damage to all hits of your other skills and your party skills.
TL;DR; - More Aspersio gives you slightly more auto-attack damage and very insignificant amount of def. More blessing gives some damage to your party. The difference is not gamebreaking, so it is up to personal preference which to chose.
2 - 1 point in monstrance is there for the 30% dex buf. This is very good when you party with archers. Exorcise gives you some single target damage and a debuff for incinerate if you go PD later on. It is not a good skill, but it is not as terrible as some people paint it and comes in handy when soloing bosses and stronger mobs.
I’m leaving 4 out, as this is a question about OP recommendation.
Exorcise actually a good skill to deal with bosses when you doing solo on open map. I tried to spam only Exorcise on lv 90 Plant type boss and take me ~3.5 min to kill it with only this skill. Think about combine this with cure and auto attack damage XD.
Is stone skin of any use late game if one decides not to invest any stats into SPR? For an example, a build with a set amount of base CON like 50 - 100 then dumping the rest into INT.
Also for PVE, dungeon solo and boss killing, which is a better call for the last 2 ranks C2 Druid or C2 Cleric and Plague Doctor?
I’m wondering how does revive work. Does it only activate only once when you die or can it activate multiple times as long as the buff is still active. Because i had it activate on me but the buff duration is still there. Not the invincible buff.
On my Kriv>PD who has the same stat build as you, it really tapers off especially vs bosses that are your level or above. Like fred missions you can’t even block anymore, and mobs are only blocked occasionally.
For PVE dungeon solo and boss killing both can work, but c2>pd is very support oriented while druid is more damage oriented.
As for your last question I also still see the buff after it procs. I want to say it should only work once, but maybe can explain why the buff still lingers.
Would you recommend going for R6 Monk and R7 Plague Doc? Because I was thinking about as a Monk I can use Palm Strike to cause Bleed and then as a Plague I use Pandemic to spread this debuff to everyone nearby… is that idea correct? Well, if it really works as I wonder, I can cause a bunch of damage in PvP.
Sacrament is always worth it, as it has no hit cap. Blessing is worth it at lower levels, however as priest you can use your own Blessing. You just need to level it’s attribute so it adds more damage.
You should also buy the Cafrisun set, it’s fairly cheap on the market.
I left bless at 3 for the attribute bonus.
And sacriment at 5 so it has the same duration as last rites.
I think sacriment is probably fine at 1.
No stone skin for me since im going for more damage, some con and dump rest on int. I’ll rely on some con, safety zone on c2 cleric and PD’s healing factor to surive. I don’t know what else to put points on so i put 1 on monstrance for the debuff. I have 2 on resurrection for the revive attribute and dumped the rest on revive. So my revive is at 9. Of course i maxed mass heal and asperion. Sadly i cant take advantage of stone skin and that chaplain buff to get 100% stone skin up time though. I don’t think going monk would benefit chaplain in any way.
For c2 cleric I’ll probably get 10 heal, 10 safety zone, 9 cure , 1 divine might. Don’t know if i want to drop cure to 8 to get 1 deprotect zone for the debuff.
AikawaKazu from DN Sea!!!
nice guide!
Really good guide, thanks. I learned a lot !
A question though : Does the attribute of aspersion enhances the damage you deal through Aspergillium ?
Meaning, is it worth leveling it up to 100 ?
