I came back after more or less a year hiatus and I’m trying to fix my swordies while waiting for re: build.
Can some swordie expert suggest me a very cheap CM build I can use to make exp and items?

Is there even a cheap Swordsman build? Swordsmen are very reliant on a good weapon to deal good damage.
The best option in my opinion would be Retiarius since you’ve got a decent damage boost via net skills and a survival boost (Dagger Guard and Vital point protection)&a def reduction against bosses.
It’s also easier to group mobs and Trident Finish is ± the only skill you need to kill mobs.
The rest of the build is free, but I guess you’d want Peltasta to provoke mobs and boost your defence and Hoplite for the Spear mastery attribute as a passive damage boost&Stabbing.
Probably sth like Swordsman2>Peltasta2>Hoplite3>Retiarius3, it should be fficient enough for challenge mode & farming.
Mind I’m not an expert (Cleric nerd & main here) so take it with a grain of salt.
I also don’t know your assets and equipment so it’s hard to say anything xD
If you have a good upgraded gun already, you can pick Cor3 for pillage.
Because of how Corsair’s attacks use 80% main + 60% subweapon damage, with a nice gun the Cor attacks can carry you a little bit if you don’t have a good main-hand weapon.
You can pair that with Reti as well, for Rete + Hexen. And since you’d be picking Reti, Hoplite for pierce debuff + Finestra.
Were I picking for those types of specifications, I’d choose Sw1-Pelt1-Hop2-Cor3-Reti3.
I’d say dragoon with pelt2, probably sword-pelt2-hop3-dragoon3.
Pelt2 lowers the damage you take, which saves red some potions. From my experiences, I’d say dragoon has somewhat decent damage/sp consumtion ratio, so you save some blue potions too I guess.
I’d say hop3 if you don’t have a good pistol.

For CM? Any non rainbow build I suppose. That is if you are asking to do cm with a party. Everything changes if you mean solo cm, as there is no cheap (any build) gearing if you want to solo if that is what you mean?
Since it’s all about EXP and items, it’s obvious that it’s not solo since you get bonus exp in a party, and the equipment drop rate is also way higher (random drops during the stages, the drops from bosses are fixed to two per player anyway).
If he wanted to solo,the only reason to do so is to get all the silver (cause the amount of silver is split), which isn’t mentioned here.
Interesting suggestions. I’ll probably quickly try both of them and choose one, even though I’m more interested in Retiarius, since I love goons only matched with cata.
Umineko got it right. I don’t have to solo challenges, just to be in a party to get xp and loot

long stride is spear + shield only so unless you are swapping all the time I would drop that and put the points in other skills
mb, I thought just Synchro Thrust was spear + shield.
Then it means I’ll have to choose between Stabbing or Pierce to max
I know its not about goon c3.
But i test a surpisingly strong build now:
sw3/hop3/Goon3/barb 1
i use a 315 primus +11 trans 2 2 handet spear.
Dragon soar if its crit deals 75k x10 dmg so 750k x3 with 20 secs cd.
d-fall 600-700k pierce 50k x 5 on bosses.
50/50 con/str with plate armor i dont even got survival probs …
