[Chaplain] Toy Hammer vs Valia before 170

Just got to 75 (priest 3) and I wanted to clarify these weapons:

From my experience toy hammer seems far superior to Valia when comparing single target damage. This only applies when monster HP is large enough to proc the explosion several times. Usually this means dungeon mobs and boss monsters.

Valia seems superior for general leveling as mobs are generally dying before the explosion proc. This means the flat holy property damage from Valia is more practical and beneficial as it’s static and always present.

Wanted to get some insight from higher level chaplains about this. It would seem toy hammer is really amazing as long as the mobs have the HP.

the aspersion damage from aspergillum will apply on every mob hit by your normal attacks, it is dependent on your aoe attack ratio

i’m still sporting my Five Hammer(+5 aoe attack ratio) and i’m lvl 177, the lower damage is a tradeoff for hitting more mobs with a single swing. normal mobs are easy kills with aspergillum and being able to hit up to 8 small monsters at a time is faster than hitting 3 when all you need to kill them is 2-3 swings on both weapons

toy hammer is good for high HP mobs but IMO not woth the money (2 to 2.5m)
i feel valia will do slightly less damage overall and its much cheaper (700k) so if you plan to buy catacombs club later on I’d say skip toy hammer

if you are going non-int build and likes to solo toy hammer might be the best choice

Which provides better dps for auto attacks with a high int chaplain build. toy hammer or catacomb club?

Toy hammer wins only when you are basic attacking and basic attacking only. The second you start throwing spells into the mix, catacombs wins with its massive matk.

Both are kind of eh to get at their full prices, so save up or grab them when they’re cheap. Superior whites will do you good until then.

How do you deal with five hammers low durability

lvl15 repair squires gives it 30 durability, 45 if you’re lucky
